On a similar note is there no option to automatically forward your spell casts whether damage or healing to the target of target?

You can do it with a macro. e.g.,

/ac "Stone" <tt>

If you're targeting the tank, this will cast stone on the tank's target (I mostly use stuff like this for lazy fate grinding).
