What the Hell is taking Pagos soo long?

This is pretty much the most egregious way to spread out content I've ever seen. I mean, I get they want to spread out 4.3's content, but dude the next patch is like a month away and people want stuff to do man.

I can't be the only one who feels like they screwed up this content timeline....

Either way I hope it gives “new” glamour items like the first one did.

Agreed. It is really quite astounding how we've all just seemed to accept this as normal.

What iLv are the new Pagos weapons supposed to be? I'm thinking there're 375 like O8s weapons, but the issue is, they be outdated in 4.4 This is insanity.

Relic weapons are always outdated on the next even patch, though. It doesn't matter how close to the next patch it comes out. It probably won't take any time at all to get the new weapon.

A lot of people are against it, though there isn't really much they can do about it. With a major expansion coming out in a couple of weeks for a rival MMO, though, I wouldn't be surprised if FFXIV's community takes a temporary population hit. Some of the people who stray, though, may end up straying permanently - especially if Blizzard manage to adopt a content model that brings fresh content out at a rate that rivals FFXIV.

It doesn't help that Yoshi-P is on record actively telling people to go and play other games. That isn't a bad statement to make, though I feel like it's also somewhat insulting when it feels very much like an excuse to hide the simple fact that content is being staggered to match subscription renewal cycles.

Personally I don't think we should be facing more than a two week delay for content when a patch goes live. That would give people time to focus on the MSQ's and not lag behind if they're truly committed to the game...but it wouldn't leave veteran players without stuff to do because waiting a month or two months for the 'meat' of a content patch is getting rather tiresome.

The problem, as I see it anyway, is that FFXIV can't take the hits in population like WoW can. There is such a noticeable downswing in this game that if I were the developer I'd be asking sure there was stuff happening at a brisker pace. But i'm not. So. That's not a thing i'm really at any liberty to comment on. But I did.

The whole Yoshi - P saying to play other games I can totally get behind - but not for a subscription MMO so much. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he means cancelling the subscription during these down periods.

I'll be going back to WoW, for a bit anyway (apparently I can change my eye colour now >.<) - just as soon as i can unlearn all the muscle memory and glacial GCDness FFXIV has taught me. I'll try to balance both I suppose - this game at least is easier to keep up with gear wise etc than WoW.

The content does feel like it's spread far too thin. On top of that, it feels lacking in substance too.

HoH for example was nice, but 1-30 for pugging isn't much. The weapon feels rather pointless, I mean if you aren't a savage raider what do you exactly do with it? In other games, better gear serves as a stepping stone into harder content, but a single 365 weapon doesn't really do that and you know better weapons will be available soon. The rng boxes for fireworks and pets whose value has crashed aren't that enticing either.

Lighthouse was great. It's just a shame raids in FF14 are something you do in under an hour day 1. Games like WoW have 7-12 boss raids per patch that you progress for a few months with your FC tuned for all skill levels. That's another thing, that FF just doesn't encourage FC raiding and instead we end up in statics with strangers and only then if you do Extreme/Savage, with no inbetween.

Dungeons have absolutely zero replay value except for leveling.

Collecting feels pointless. The minion/mount interface is outdated, triple triad card rates are bonkers, there's no new content besides "play x npc 200 times and pay to rngjesus" and 4 star cards are still worthless. Verminion remains extremely unpopular, the tournament on my server has just 12 entries on average a week.

Crafting, while better than HW, has been watered down and the markets are saturated with cheap Onishi. The new stuff is very easy to make and us crafters don't really have anything else to do at endgame besides spam Onishi and raid food and list on the mb. The namazu lost their appeal fast and felt like a bland chore immediately after Bloodsworn.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but it's disheartening to see so few people online on my friends list every day. It would be nice to see them trying to focus on what makes games fun and engaging to play, rather than how they can stretch it out and sticking to the same tired formula.

Pagos should have been 2 weeks after HoH and everything else in 4.35, that's acceptable staggered content imo. I'd much prefer them just doing a 4.x/4.x5 instead of the 4.x1/4.x6 junk they're giving us. The worst part of all of this is the fact pagos and rathalos are dropping at the same exact time and both pieces of content are wat I consider best played at the very start. Pagos for that sense of discovery like we got with week 1 anemos and rathalos for doing the extreme fight before guides and everything are released.

I would like to go in a further discussion about the spread but not now really, I just guess they decided to link pagos and rathalos together since long ago for one reason or another (I mean pagos won't upgrade armor and rath has armor as a reward, could be a coincidence or not I dunno eureka in 4.5 will share more wiew perhaps). TBH I won't be surprised if the relic is like 370 ilvl and they will also unlock savage on 4.36, because at this point there won't be another time to do it if 4.4 comes in mid september.

Honestly I'll just say that if SE has decided to go for a monthly updates formula they should be clear about that
