No I don't. Gil isnt winning anything. I guess I've payed to win for years if we gonna say retainers is pay to win lmao.

Aside from teleporting what do you guys spend your gil on that you wouldn't be able to craft?

On the day when patch 4.4 get released, as always, I will burn alot of gil (for some I know it takes between 80 and 100 million of Gil) to overmeld my crafter gear with the new required stats to be able to craft the 4 star recipes. Overmeldung eats alot of materia. 50-100 fails for slot 4 and 5 in every piece of gear are sadly a normal thing in this game.

I will also buy some mats I have no time to gather it myself, which I had to throw away because of no storage space available, as I need to get my battle gear for Alphascape Savage ready as fast as possible. With my current new group we plan to finish Alphascape Savage within the first three weeks, so I will also spend alot of Gil to overmeld this too.

New bufffood and pots are also incoming. I have both specialists ready for this. But right after the beginning, I will not have the time to gather all mats for it.

When my own preparation is done, I can start to produce stuff to sell. At this point I do minimize the amount of gil I spend for mats. But there is sometimes stuff you can only get for tomes or other currencies than gil, which I also would buy with gil from the market board, when the time needed to collect it is to much for me.

When you only play casual in this game, than gil is not really winning much for you. But when you play competitive, Gil is a thing and so additional retainers are an advantage.

Btw: I also needed alot of gil to be successfull at the "Shirogane Savage house buying" run. And finally I got the most expensive size L plot around 15 mins after the servers gone online.
