Edit: I do understand that companies want to earn money and try everything possible, but should it come with the cost that people are already starting to see you as another EA? Reputation is something quite necessary today and if its once ruined it will be hard to get back..

It depends. We can all believe that as part of the board of directors, he has some kind of influence. But, at the same time, we don't quite know the business hierarchy that they use over in Japan and for all we know, it could just be a fancy, hollow title. He could be part of the board of directors in name, but literally have no power or control over nothing, and some companies will do that.

The title itself does not guarantee the same amount of seniority as other people in the company sometimes. So, until he states directly that he kind of screwed up himself, I'm going to just generalize and say it's the people at the very top of the company itself that controls the shareholders, accounting, net gains, etc.

Personally? I honestly don't care and I know that is selfish but i just don't.
I know this is a cliche but i see it as an optional thing. I know i will at least try out premium cause i see the benefits for my playstyle and what i find enjoyable in this game.

While I can understand people's concern this is just the start I think people are overthinking. People said same with Mogstation in 2014 and there have of course been negativity regarding that plattform since it was introduced but people have learned to accept it and so will people about the app eventually.

That is the issue on your end. Some of us really care where our money is going. We are not seeing the game validate the cost they charge. For example, my girlfriend really wants the princess dress, but given the quality if it, meaning the huge clipping issues of it, with it being 18 dollars for one character, it makes it clear 18 dollars worth of effort for one character was not put in making it. It is very disrespectful to some people to be attempting to rip people off basically. It may be optional, but people also have the option to never buy newer products from said company from feeling burned. SE may be making bank now, but what does the future hold with all this bad reputation FFXIV gave as far as the future?

Ugh don't get me started on clipping lol, I agree 100% though, and 99% of any clipping issues are instantly whisked off to the "Working as intended we totally verified w/ the Dev's" section of the forums despite how much evidence or information you give/people complaining. I get whats said on these forums has to be picked up and sent over to the JP side, but I feel like information on forums gets easily dismissed as of late. Not to mention the increase of people that move to Reddit or other forums to vent since even suggestions/non heated discussions tend to get removed for reasons idk.

The only thing I even cared for w/ this app was the additional Retainer since I have 9... chocobo bag was an extra perk but you guys reminded me of the cost per retainer in mogstation, so I don't see why an extra 3$ is only giving me half the retainer space ( choco bag) and just 8 additional kupo nut storage lol, to some 3$ isn't a huge deal but to many others it can be, especially when it can be put else where.

If it was 3 dollars, one time fee, that may not be an issue, or at least not an issue with most. The issue is 2 dollars a month per retainer, with 7 of them, adding to 14 dollars a month, plus 5 dollars for the app, plus 2 more dollars for another retainer per month. Then you have to think about the overcharging on the mog station, then the overcharging of the microtransactions of the app.... They are basically double dipping at this point, putting a F2P model on top of a sub model, that isn't right

For the record the cost itself doesn't bother me but I was saying mainly for others that are affected by it but this is news. I was under the impression that the 5$ premium COVERED the additional retainer + Saddle bag expansion monthly... so you're saying its gonna be 5$ + 2 $ so 7$ for an additional retainer? Are you sure? Like I know it says in the Premium service you get an additional retainer but does it mention that it only unlocks the option to purchase one? Because the wording leads one to believe that you simply gain it automatically. This would be great to drill on.

The retainer is free at no additional charge, according to the premium list in the app. Here is the exact text: "Hire an extra retainer in-game for no additional cost."

I think you might be right, but for me at least I dont really care if its Yoshida (I still have problems with his decisions about certain content) or higher ups. Such greedy actions make me sour towards a huge part of the company and really makes me question how much money I should give them. In the past I sometimes bought merchandise (like the carbuncles or the lore book) but right now I dont feel like they truly deserve it and wont buy the second book. Thus they lost income. Sadly as long as the income from the app or other parts are bigger than the loss we cant do much about it.

Also the problem is not always the amount of money it costs. If you have a normal income you will probably be able to spent the money on the app. But the problem comes with it being only the first step and that suddenly they are able to give us more space if we buy it. Thus why should they truly give us more space for free, if people are willing to buy it? And the sad part is, that there was already a sentence after they told us about the app, that pointed out that more might come in the future..so who knows what will be put behind the paywall later.
