Yoshi answers to his boss(es), who inevitably answer to shareholders in SE.
Unless you're a share holder, you're just a cow to be milked.
I don't think it really has any way to check. It appears to be an account-wide (all service account, all character) flag that gets set as soon as you link any character to the app for the first time. Then all your characters can register an additional favorite aetheryte destination from that point on. I tried deleting the app, and not only were my existing favorites still there, but I could create a new fourth favorite on another character.
Is there a reason why I don't have a second favorite spot? For some reason it's only letting me have the one from the one-time password app.
We can't add more inventory space.
Unless you pay an additional $5.
Now you get an extra saddlebag!
And can have an additional retainer slot!
.......
I cancelled my additional retainers and will now only pay the basic Legacy subscription, enjoy less money from me in the future. I wouldn't have minded this app if it was free and didn't have a pay advantage and virtual currency.
Truthfully, this is more about perception than anything else. They said the regular synced inventory is what can't be expanded further (beyond what they did with SB), and the whole reason for developing the saddlebag and glamour dresser was to work around those limits. So now that they worked around the limits by developing these other methods, they can expand it further using this these various kinds of "side-storage" (which isn't limited like regular inventory, though may have its own limits too).
I'm sure they'd probably argue that they already more-than-doubled people's storage space since the launch of SB, and that they've always sold extra storage capacity as an add-on. Objectively they're not wrong... but, as your quote points out, it won't really change people's sour perception that they're selling part of the solution to the problem.

The thing I do not get with this app is it offers far less then the Libra eorzea which when it allowed you to log in was a fantastic little app I have no clue how they managed to not only take two steps backwards but get in a car and reverse at high speeds, I won’t get into the premium service I think others have gotten onto that so far,
I feel like they should merge it with what remains of the libra eorzea and try to encompass some more basic uses before they even consider micro transactions ON TOP of a paid subscription, they could have the app be a direct link to the mpg store for excample and watch people use the app to buy extras and not be bled out to dry.

That's pretty high ranking isn't it?
Cool. So everyone who is saying they will never download/use should download, link, then delete app, just to get the extra discounted teleport.I don't think it really has any way to check.
