184 is way too many quests

So I never touched the level 50-60 crafting quests.....

The rewards were completely not worthwhile. (In my opinion.)

Once you hit about level 30 or so, most crafters will be crafting their own gear. So only 30-50 I did back in A Realm Reborn day’s for a bit of extra Gil and I already had done the 1-30 which were quite beneficial.

I now am looking at having to do about 80 quests just to unlock traits.

This would be fine if the quests were a bit more engaging or if there were not so many of them.

Please Square-Enix. I do not like skipping story content, so either make the quests more enjoyable or do not lock important rewards behind such a massive amount of errand quests.....

    Thank you.

What quests are you talking about?
You talk about crafter quests, and then you mention errand quests - but none of the crafter quests can be considered errand quests.

And "80 quests"? Where did you get that from?

I'm guessing he's a returning omni-crafter, and is counting every single job quest from 1-70 across all DoB.

What quest are you referring to? SQ in general Main story, class? You do realize quest give xp and later on they give a huge amount right? IF your referring to Leve's you really don't need to do them, however they are the best source of XP for crafting and HQ trade ins duplicate the XP. For DoW or DoM is a nice time killer between queue wait times. In the Story line quest, if you do them your guaranteed a quick lvl 70 if you stick to the same job.

And, this is why SE locked the traits behind the quests. To get people to do them.

That being said, the quests are not that bad. Some may be boring, but they take next to no time to do, and allot you fairly decent experience (DoL more so than DoH, if I recall correctly). While I can agree that some could stand to be more engaging (I only ever remember the ALC quests... the others are forgettable at best), there really isn’t that many to do. No more than DoW/DoM jobs.

Yeah, I have to do 70 quests since I never did a single crafter quest after hitting and doing the level 50 ones.

There are 12 quests per class from 1-50....

Then 10 more from 50-70. To me that’s quite excessive.

So 80 quests across all 8 crafting classes.

To me that is .... extremely excessive. Should be 6 at most per class, (50-70) but that’s my personal opinion.

I finished crafting my crafting gear, but randomly having issues crafting my gathering gear. I assume the traits I’m missing on each class could help quite a bit. Thus why I now turned to the forums. You never “needed” to do th crafting quests. They were a bonus option. Now we’re nearly forced into them for traits, and the ones from 50-60 are quite tedious.

I didn’t even know traits were a reward from them until a friend and I randomly started talking and I said I refused to do crafting quests after 50. (Again, the ones from 50-60 we’re much longer, and the rewards were completing pointless to me.)

Yes I will do them, I just wanted to express my distaste for the lack of effort put into them by the dev team (the story quality) and the amount of them, and the rewards up till 60+.

    That’s was all.

First of all there seems to be something wrong with your math.
Post-level 50, you get class quests at level 53, 55, 58, 60, 63, 65, 68, 70. Total of 8 quests per level, not 10. (I am ignoring vector quests where you just go talk to someone to get rewards.)

Secondly, it is only some of the level 63+ quests that gives traits/abilities as rewards, and those aren't all that important anyway. Helpful certainly, but not going to make a major difference.

As mentioned the crafter class quests give plenty of XP (especially the level 61+ quests which are also easier) - meaning they will help you level up faster - as well as gear as rewards.
I'd say the crafter quests are a good thing - a nice break in the tedious leveling process.

If you wait until you outlevel the quests they can be done quite easily anyway, so you are really only hurting yourself by skipping them..

In short, I don't agree with your complaints at all.

    How, exactly?
They're quests - not much else to it.
If you were complaining about the needless errand running and teleporting to chat to 1 person and then go back to the same place I'd understand your complaint.
The 60-70 DoH/L quests are really bad for this (as are a lot of the SE quests in general).

This is going to probly be one of those situations where agreeing to disagree is the best most of us can do. You decided to skip 8 classes worth of quests for back to back expansions, then do them all at once? Yeah, in that situation it might seem like too much. You dont like the rewards? The big chunks of exp were the best part of the rewards, but some free gear upgrades and materia were welcome too. Yeah i eventually replaced all that gear, and i sold off some of the extras for a bit of coin. Doesnt mean they werent put to good use. But a "lack of effort" put into the quests? I laughed harder at part of the SB blacksmith questline then i had in months(and thats after rooting for the girl in the HW line). There were several sweet moments(HW goldsmithing and SB culinarian come to mind), there was some righteous vindication(HW carpentry, SB leatherworker). And i know im not the only person who thinks Alchemy has the best class/job questline in the entire game. So yeah... agree to disagree is the best i can manage here.
