How will the following merge issues be handled?

• Why is the transfer set in such a short period of time? ppl that are not online during that 9 days (army, holiday, work) will just be automatically distributed across the Worlds?
  
  
• So if for example husband and wife play together and come back from their holiday only to discover that they are just randomly tossed on different servers how will this be handled?

people that are not online during that short period of time to log into their loadstone and set a server before randomly being distributed across the worlds.

These issues apply to non-active players... They have over a month to reactivate if they don't want to be randomly distributed.

EDIT: I didn't actually read any responses before posting but it seems a ton of people already said this.
