A big note

You can't actually chat with your FC or linkshells, you can start an in-app conversation with them if they also have the app, basically a shabby discord DM, it doesn't seem to have any actual connection to the game beyond syncing lists.

With the chat ending up in a bait and switch and market-related things being paywalled behind microtransactions the only use left for the free app is the event planner and being able to access your inventory (why would anyone want to do that while off the game though?).

Pretty useless without premium.

Just within the app. It's what you use to take any action, be it adjusting prices or sending them on ventures. You receive one daily; two if you're premium. And I believe you can purchase extras?

There is an additional currency in the app called Mog Coins that you purchase that work just like Kupo Nuts, for now at least. As stated during all of the Live Letters discussing the app they already have plans to expand the use of the Mog Coins.
