Server Merge approaching.

For those in favor of sticking together, how does Lindblum > 1 sound?

Bad. How about Lindblum = 10th server?
Because Lindblum has most Europeans right now, so obviously it would make sense to use the 10th server which is recommended to Europeans.

i like this concept that the community tries to work out for the servers.
Atoli's argument is right, BUT
i'd say i don't give a f*ck about SE saying No.10 is for EU players.
the idea to figure out a number for each server is not bad, really.

It's bad because about 200-500 people who visit the official forum on a daily basis will know about it, but that's it.
Even if they all tell their friends, it will still be a really tiny amount of people who know about this "solution".
So in the end the majority will chose randomly / server recommended to them by SE.
To keep a big part of the community of Lindblum together, it would make sense if the people on the forums just followed those who do not read the forums instead of trying to choose a server most people won't know about.

The problem with choosing the first world would be that it is very likely to fill up first, simply because it'd be first on the list (presuming this list is in numerical order and SE doesn't change it due to the ever-whining community.)

As far as the 10th server goes, it's designated for the German and French speakers, not necessarily Europeans.

I still think it's a mistranslation, because when I read it, it says "server recommended to players in the European time zone", nothing about German or French people.

Interesting. It says that on the German and French announcements, but both the English and the Japanese say German/French-speaking players. I suppose we'll have to wait for some clarification on that.

Yeah it's not necessarily for Europeans, just recomended for German and French players. Last I checked, EU does NOT construct from Germany and France alone. And do we really have the most EU players at the moment? :O Oh god... I just see NA players all over the server.

But I do get your point. I also want to join a server with most EU players. But as a personal opinion (got absolutely nothing against German or French, let't get that right) I'd like to join a server where the spoken language is English. Server 10 will be populated with German and French players and the language we hear shouting in Ul'dah is most likely either German or French. And I don't really understund either language

MMM, maybe Lindblum > 1 is not really cool, imho.
Why?
Just because, maybe I'm a bit elitist but please forgive me, it will be the first server that all "pro", "stupids" will choose, because "they're NUMBER ONE" or, more simply, just because it's the first on the list of server.
I will talk with all my Lindblum's friend to hear what they'll say 'bout that; if I could say my idea, maybe it's better to choose a server "in the middle" like N°4/N°5.
Overall we should consider that on Lindblum there are some big LSs that in these days will talk and decide about it, so maybe in a few days we should decide on here too.
Anyway, I repeat, if my opinion had a real worth, I would choose N°4-5 World.
