Ideas for fixing house ownership

The housing issue in the game is problem no doubt. SE is hard set on not switching to instance housing and slow too add more wards. We have the auto demo and the random timer in place now while they do help there are still issues. A thread on the General discussion has once again made light of one of the issues. People owning mulitple FC and personal homes.

From my understanding SE is working on a way to allow alts to share a mains home, if done correctly the need for mulitiple personals on one world wont be needed anymore. Leaving ownership of multiple FC homes remaining, Which begs the question how to handle this problem. FC leadership can be passed manaully or automatically should a FC leader be offline too long a period.

I have tried to brainstorm a few methods to fix the ownership of multiple FC houses without effecting the Transfer of FC leadership. So far the only thing that really seems to work and not one people are likely to agree with is this.

A rule of 1 Free company per world per account. Be the character Owner or member of a Free company.

Example:

Player A has 2 characters on the same account both on Ifrit: Character A and Character B neither in Free company's.

Character A joins a Free companys by doing so character B cannot form a Free company and can only join the Free Company Character A has joined.

Problem with this solution is peole who enjoy multiple characters pay the price. But it restricts Free company house ownership down to 1 per world per account.

So asking players who loving housing too post some of your idea's for fixing this issue.

What this thread is not about:

1. Not about me wanting more homes. I am happy having 1 FC house, 1 personal house and 1 apartment thank you.

2. Not about removing the Transferring of FC leadership

3. Not about punishing those who already have multiple homes.

Hmmmso where is this article that states SE is trying to make it so that secondary characters can share main? I don't recall an official release for that intentions. I am a one man FC and share my FC with my alternate so that is already at play. This housing issues is optional content and the rules have gotten strict do to flipping houses. Hence the new requirements if anything it has cut down on ways people make gil. You can still transfer owners if a FC leader promotes you and they sell it IF they are honest. It is still risky. The system is just broken to those who don't have a house -.-. IF you want a personal hous eto decorate I think maybe looking into the Sims would be more productive lol.

Just have it run the function that checks to see if a person would qualify to purchase an fc house before leadership is passed on. If they don't pass the check, leadership can't be passed on to them and if no person qualifying for leadership is left in the fc, the plot no longer belongs to that fc.

So not official just being talked about there is a reason why it's not official. As for making gill you apparently misunderstood. The most recent changes were made to stop the exploitation of gill sellers buying properties to sell. No body asked what you owned. SE grandfather those with multiple homes,however once sold, demolished, they can no longer go above that number that it's lost until one remains. The only fix that the housing is limited and it's considered optional. Just like before with new areas or expansions people will have to wait for now. Acceptance is the only fix at this time. Until sometimes becomes official nothing will be set in stone. For now people can buy homes from t hose with extra FC's, they are out there it's just people looking. Ownership can really be passed only through FC, selling it will place a Cool Down on the market and it will be first come fist serve. Might want to read new requirements so get a better understanding. Yes those were official releases on new standards.

Maybe they should hold a SE house auction for banned accounts and send out a massive email or announcement. Have people bid for them lol. Now there is an actual solution.

Look forward to it since....how long? yeah I like to see it in official otherwise it's just ideas in the works. Example, we have these ideas, they are in the works, nothing set in stone is usually their response.

Thanks I know the current rules for housing. This thread is too address people having multiple FC homes on a single world using one account as the current rules dont stop it but simply curve the issue.

I think that is a reasonable approach and I thought was the original intent of the ownership rules.
