Is Omega Weapon going to be a thing?

I kinda figured since we got Ultima so early, we'd allude to Omega Weapon at some point. I'm actually wondering if Omega will survive his Raid and fuse with the remains of the Ultima Weapon or something to make XIV's version of Omega Weapon, even if the two are usually unrelated.

Or maybe it's tied to that thing that destroyed the Isle of Val (I think?) back in ARR with a power similar to the Ultima spell that was never really followed up on?

When Omega was the more powerful of two primal weapons created by Allag, I assumed it was Omega Weapon. Today we know Omega is an alien construct older than Allag. Perhaps, like Ultima, there are a ton of Allagan experiments and prototypes based on it, but we're presently dealing with the OG Omega in a raid cycle, so are we supposed to believe if we fight another Omega later, that Allag somehow surpassed the OG?

I would not be surprised if after the Allagans got the original Omega back to sleep if they developed weapons based on it that were easier to "deactivate". I could see these weapons being the prototypes of the prototypes for Ulitma Weapons.

The Isle of Val is an ongoing thing in current content. I may be misremembering but I thought the awakening of Omega came AFTER Val's disappearance. You never know though.

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how they handle Omega at the end of the raids, and your idea for a fusion into Omega Weapon could be pretty cool to see.

Regula wanted to take the neurolink technology that restrained The Warring Triad back to Garlemald so that the Garleans could control eikons like the Allagans did. And potentially other things given how neurolinks were used to control dragons...

Fortunately for us, the neurolinks failed, largely due to Sophia's followers sabotaging them back in the time of Allag. So Regula decided it wasn't worth it to bring back nonfunctional technology. On the other hand, he did figure out how useful the Echo was when dealing with eikons, so it wasn't like he didn't get anything out of Azyz Lla...

So far, everything to do with Omega has been found in Cartenu, which the Alliance has better access to then the Garleans. There's also the fact that messing with technology on the level of Omega isn't easy and the two engineers who knew the most about assimilating Allagan technology into Garlean technology aren't even working for the Garleans at the moment. So even if the Garleans could get their hands on Omega (or Ultima) based technology, I don't think they could do with it what Nero has been able to do with it. Or at least, not as efficiently, or have as good an idea of what they were really doing with it.

That was the original goal, but in the solo trial he wants to obtain the genesis expression or whatever that was, unless they are the same thing the tomelith has been double sealed by us which probably means that garleans are far from getting their hands on it

With Ultima Weapon being heavily based on its VII incarnation appearance-wise, I think it would be nice to encounter the whole lot of the VII Weapons down the line, perhaps as flawed prototypes in yet another Allagan-focused dungeon/raid.

To my knowledge no final fantasy game (with the possible exception of oddball spinoffs, like mobile games) have featured both Omega AND Omega Weapon in the same game. Not even XI, which went on for so long and stretched itself pretty thin incorporating as much real-life and Final Fantasy mythology as it could ever added Omega Weapon to the game (they already had Omega).

Since Omega is in this game, it's pretty unlikely that we'll see Omega Weapon. Possible, but unlikely.
