Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Unfortunately, I can't assist with the account restrictions. You will need to contact the Support Center regarding those (However, putting a security token on the account will prevent login restrictions). As for the disconnections, I'd like to get some more information regarding those:

    - Platform (PC, PS4, Mac)
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless)
    - Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)
    - Frequency at which error occurs
    - Everything you have tried to resolve the issue

Do the login restrictions and the disconnections coincide with each other? Did they start at the same time?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

It's on PC, wired connection. I usually have discord running which has never caused any issues before, sometimes google chrome but again this has never caused issues before the last couple of weeks. The frequency is intermittent - it seems to have stopped for the moment but I was having anything from 1 to 5 disconnects in the space of a couple of hours, after which point I was giving up and closing the game, for several nights in a row over the fortnight. It was frequent enough that I ddidn't dare go into partyfinders or duty roulettes. Login restrictions did line up with some of the 90k2s and they did start at the same time. Latest password change seems to have stopped the restrictions though so not sure what was going on there. The computer isn't shared.

I have tried manually resetting our modem, as the old one did screw around and would throw the computer off the internet randomly at night, but this doesn't seem to be the problem, and I have rebooted my computer to see if there was something there, even checked my network cable to make sure it was plugged in fully. I have been wondering if the heatwave may be an issue since our connection lines are above ground, and if it's been affecting the servers as well?

Hope these details are helpful in deciphering what the problem may be since so many have been affected by the 90ks!

Thank you for the update Sylvastreak.

I can't tell if a heatwave would affect your equipment, but if there is an issue around your area due to weather (not necessarily with your connection itself) it could cause these kinds of errors if you are being routed though it. As for what you can do, try some of the suggestions below to make sure that nothing is interfering with your connection:

The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

Makes sure that your anti-virus/firewall is not interfering with Final Fantasy XIV. Also, close out any unnecessary programs that may be running in the background.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
