I miss unique craftable housing gear made from dungeon drops

One of the reasons I enjoyed doing the dungeons in ARR was the chance that some unique thing might drop that I could use to make a housing item. There are so many things from HW and SB dungeons that would make amazing housing items. A few ideas:

- Totems from Neverreap
- Those stone walls with the faces from Bardam's Mettle
- Unusual underwater plants from Shisui
- The magic geomantic stones seen along the entryways of Swallow's Compass

And so on...

What would you like to see craftable from dungeon drops? Whatever happened to this idea?

Me too, I think crafting mats should come from all different kinds of content. It gives extra reason to run the content.

Crafting sometimes has a tendency to feel very disconnected from the rest of the game, almost like a separate game of its own, just played with the same character. Getting crafting mats from combat content helps link them together a bit better. (And that's on top of the fact that some of the dungeons have cool looking stuff it'd be nice to get.)

I'd grind the crap out of Shisui/HoH for those dragon/seahorse statues and alters. I'd actually do dungeons again if there was stuff like that, honestly.

actually a lot of people complained when crafting mats were included in chests, especially during the dungeons near the end of the 2.xx series. there are far less crafters in game than people running dungeon content so they complained and thus got their wish that it was removed. there are some mat drops now in newer 4.xx dungeons but they are trivial imo and nothing unique.

They're not talking about "common" mats like pottash or even random skins but rather the unique items that were used to craft dungeon-specific furniture.

Like the Dead Mans Chest from Sastasha. Or the Blue Corals from there. Or the flowers from Toto-Rak. All the furniture from Haukke Manor (...funny that they still keep adding to that...). That bush from Aurum Vale. The Demon Wall. Tonberry Lamps... I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff.

But yes, I'd like that back to - a lot of the new dungeons have pieces in them that would be just great in my house! Cant be to difficult to turn already existing statues and chests and plants into furniture, can it?
I dont get why they dont utilise the designs that are already in the game, specially in the dungeons, more instead of always creating new stuff... dont get me wrong, I like that, but why not give us the things they've already modeled and put into the game aswell?
...for example, by adding special mats to certain dungeons again to make us craft Seahorses from Shisui?

I think all of the standard linear dungeons should have a unique drop like that. Manor varnish, etc. For a lot of people, dungeons have no particular purpose after the first clear other than adding variety to the roulette. Gear these dungeons drop are either immediately obsolete, or very briefly useful for returning players to catch up but then replaced by crafted / tome / raid gear. So the rewards from normal dungeons could do with a rethink to offer something relevant to a larger amount of people. At least crafting mats are marketable so it provides some extra gil to people who don't intend on crafting.

Dungeon format could also do with a shakeup to break monotony. Doesn't always need to be hallways and exactly 3 bosses. Doesn't always need to be standard composition req with things that need to be tanked. Vehicles would be nice sometimes like the magitek armor section in praetorium. Use imagination.

Or if nothing else raise the drop rates in the chests in the dungeons, I have spammed Haukke for an hour before to only come out with 3 fine wax.

I think some sort of Ala Mhigan Stone would be great from Ala Mhigo to make a griffin sculpture

something from keeper of the lake for midgarsomr wall piece, statue or something
seeds from sohm al or saint mocianne's for some new plants
torn pages from great gubal for book cases or something for furnishings

Unique crafting mats from dungeons was neat minus the grind to get them for the most part and the equipment requiring janky abilities to even try to make at level, but that stuff also tended to be very good, so kind of worth the effort.

Especially because we can unsync dungeons now. It would be easy to go back and get those older things -- so if you think "well, nobody's running that", you can do it yourself!
