POLL: what style server merge do you prefer?

Liked the first option.

They just need to take the 10 most popular servers and merge the less popular ones into them. This option is FAR superior because:

1. The devs would have ALL the control over balancing the worlds, thus ENSURING that each server pop is balanced by choosing which worlds merge with which other worlds.

2. All the communities created on the existing servers won't be splintered!!!!!!!!

3. Unsubscribed players and players who will be unable to access the game won't be pushed into a random server. (The current system would cause all these players to be alienated if they planned to resubscribe for 2.0, and this means these players WON'T COME BACK FOR 2.0!)

4. Everyone on the 10 most popular servers will be able to keep their server name.

IT WOULD SOLVE ALL OF THE PROBLEMS EVERYONE IS UPSET ABOUT WITH THE CURRENT CRAPPY MERGE SYSTEM THEY ANNOUNCED!

Plus, they could still give French and German speaking players the option to switch to server 10.

I don't agree with anything posted above but the text formatting for emphasis is nice. I think it makes a point although I only ready "FFXIV WILL SUFFER!" so I'm assuming this is some kind of ransom note and that you're holding FFXIV hostage??? If so what are your demands?

I prefer Your option 2. To be perfectly clear, the option and method that SE has chosen and planning to implement. This is a poll so my answer is in. Save the explanations for another thread.

Option 1.
Why make it harder then needed? I'm in multiple linkshell and I'll probably lose 1 or 2 of them because we'll be splitted up.
The linkshells are pretty big, so it's not to me to tell every linkshell GO THERE!!

I'll just need to choose which linkshell I'll follow to the new server.
That's why I'm completely against option 2. Whole communities are getting ripped apart. =(
