There is so much crying today on the forums =/
Too late to change anything now.
Just deal with it.

I love people telling us to just deal with it, I'm sorry you hate your server so much.
jup he totally hates linkshells...
seems legit
/facepalm
I'm sorry that you can't empathize with people who are on dismally small servers (who had no way of knowing their server would end up that way when they rolled on it) and don't want to be pigeonholed into an existing community where they won't integrate with the existing community. They'll just be a sub-community within the server. You know, like how every blanket merge, including the fabled 'option 2', ends up.
See what I did there?

he like WoW thats why >.>
maybe we get anti social in 2.0 and act like pricks for gear.
Buddy, I'm not really seeing the basis for claiming someone hates communities and linkshells. I can see that linkshells aren't a priority but I prefer having fundamental gameplay be a greater drain on resources. As far as voicechat goes a utilitarian approach was taken and that should be the route. Keep in mind that having an in-game voicechat can take away from the casualness of the game for many people. Also, I'm not sure if you realize that the linkshell system isn't actually his creation and that the way it ended up being coded embedded it pretty deeply (meaning that simple tweaks are not possible.)
Yes, the loot system for primals is garbage - everyone (for the most part) dislikes it. Yes, it is being considered and addressed.
And I'm having a hard time finding an easier route for a server merge that wouldn't take a ton of coordination from the devs (meaning that gameplay takes a backseat.)
I don't see evidence of a hate scenario other than your constant replies to anyone who disagrees with you.

I think all this hate is uncalled for. I think the solution they chose is ultimately the best solution to the population problem. After the merge we will have 10 fairly evenly populated servers, uninfluenced by names. I like this idea better than them trying to balance populations on existing servers. I was torn at first about the name thing, but lets be honest: That's what caused the problem in the first place. So I can understand them wanting to avoid a similar situation.
In the end, Yoshi was OK with this solution because he believed in Linkshell communities being able to come together and choose a new server. They are giving us plenty of time to pick our new world. I honestly do not understand what the big deal is.
The only problem I saw was for players who are no longer active, but like Yoshi said, they can find their friends and use the World Transfer service after 2.0. I think that is fair, especially if you assume many players will not return until 2.0.
As a former LS leader that despises the way many people conduct themselves on 30 different linkshells at once, I can't help but chuckle at the folks that are crying about the server transfer saying that they can't possible move to a server that will have all their friends on it. Ain't that a bitch?
(more specifically the people with 30 shells that bounce around and pop up when its time to do stuff thats been organized, but are never around when someone needs help.)
Dealing with it has more to do with adjusting to things I cant change and making plans accordingly that help me and my friends, and less to do with hating my server or standing around crying like a 3 year old when I should be making an effort to gather my community on the same server. I'm sorry you can't cope with change, and frankly I am glad I get to choose where to go, because from most of your alls reactions on the forums today, if I was FORCED to play with some of you, i wouldnt want to play this anymore at all.
Wow an attack on a guy thats doing everything he can for the FF community and has revolutionized the way SE communicates with its fanbase for their FF online titles, even these forums are his doing, while sacrificing health and free time in every aspect....grow up.
Please have a little respect for how much this guy does for this game. I can't believe anyone would honestly think the guy would sabotage a title he is the Producer/Director of. Hes doing his best, and had to make a difficult call and gave only one single request. That you keep the comments constructive.
Remember, Yoshi-P is getting 2-3 hours of sleep on a day to day basis. Do you honestly think his pay is the sole reason behind him coming to work today? Cause I can assure you hes not making a million a year, which is what you'd have to pay me to live on a schedule like that.
