Because they stole his sweet roll. Why does Yoshida hate linkshells/communities?

Not everyone is unemployed or out of school man, I have friends where it is impossible for them to log in the game until December of this year when they graduate, so those people will be flung to different servers. Not everyone has the money to pay for one month and log on to change servers, especially when you're supporting yourself through college. Choosing to renew this subscription was a decision to take 60 bucks out of my life that would go towards food and other stuff, you can't judge someone for choosing to do the opposite. I just get tired of a lot of loser ass people with no job or life talking about non playing characters like "omg who cares about them they'll never play, they're not committed", yeah being committed to XIV over real life is SO cool *sarcasm*
I love the insinuation that anyone who dedicates time to this game beyond a certain amount is a loser or "no lifer." Look, I understand people have different priorities but that doesn't mean the field should be built around accommodating them. SE is trying to find a solution that works.
Also, you state your friends won't be able to play until December. Oddly enough this is when the world transfer service will be available (ala 2.0) so your pals won't be missing out. Your statement is ill-informed or poorly thought out due to emotions.
And, in closing, if 60 bones is breaking you then you have crap priorities and should spend less time chastising others and getting yours in order.

Jesus christ why don't you go bump your own thread asking for a poll so you can see that 70-80% of people in that too still don't want the crappy option 4, instead of flaming me for a post I made after the initial announcement and before any of Yoshida's posts since then which all apologized to the community for what was admittedly an insensitive and highly controversial decision
I guess I missed the part where I said he was damaged goods or completely inept, or that I didn't like the game or even that I would quit if I didn't get my way. I like a lot of things about the game, and his decisions. However several of his decisions have been very harmful to linkshells including the stupid personal loot lists for primals and his initial proposal for how server merges were handled.
People overwhelmingly disapproved and he changed his mind. The only reason that people didn't do the same for personal loot lists is because the primal loot is not needed or that important to linkshells, as soon as we get that loot expect it to be an issue of similar magnitude (but more than likely they will abandon it before then, because again the vast majority of people overwhelmingly dislike the primal loot system).
The difference between me and you is that I do give up fights I can't win, like I think exp should be much harder to come by and the path to max level should both take longer and encourage grouping more than it does. But I see that isn't likely to happen, and I'm just glad they have actually given those of us who like traditional MMO grouping the option to do so without severely handicapping ourselves (as in other MMO's).
I don't beg for a player poll to reaffirm my position on the matter which is in the obvious minority.
Face it we were right, and Yoshida now at least recognizes how much of a problem it is. That's why this forum exists as much as you hate it when things don't go your way. Yet ironically you come here and flame me for whining...
And yet the majority of people also felt a need to "whine about it" maybe because it wasn't something that was insignificant to them, but posed a serious problem for them and the friends they played with.
Whatever, you can continue to attack me it doesn't bother me because in the end people that actually make the decisions on these things actually listened to our concerns, despite the best efforts of sycophantic white knights like yourself to use your little personal attacks to derail the debate. Maybe next time try arguing on the merits of the position you take instead of just hurling insults.

Nope, instead you make fictional assumptions and accusations about things that have happened to the developer in the past based on pure emotion instead of rationality. And I never really cared which of the four options he chose, I would have just rather he picked a desicion and stuck with it, or asked EVERYONE, not just people like yourself that like developing fictional back stories for the developer that help them cope with reality. If the end result is that the majority of the people get what they want with the server merger, I dont really care how it comes about. The purpose of the post your reffering to was to point out how I am afraid of what could happen to the game if Yoshi uses just these forums (which contain "AWSOME" OP's like the one you have going here) to base his desicions on to alter major parts of the game. The fact that you missed that part doesn't actually suprise me at all though.
Also, look up on the internet the phrase "Painting a picture" and find out how thats different from me actually saying thats what you said word for word.

Please you only wish he "made a decision and stuck with it" because you are in the minority that supported it.
I do apologize for my "fictional back story" since clearly you have no sense of humor at all. Pretty sure the decision to change direction back to a normal server merger with transfers wasn't made because of any OP, but rather because of the overwhelming support for that option.
The last post on this thread before you was from 11 am, you hunted for it and revived the thread simply so you could flame me. You just wanted attention, admit it. This thread was buried, and irrelevant since Yoshida not only said they are going to base the merges off of option 2 (the exact option we all were advocating for before he even brought it up) but actually apologized.
First I would like to apologize that I have responded to you more than once as far as flaming goes. In that respect, your totally right, it was poor form, but its been tough keeping each and every post like this strait today. Second, sarcasm does not translate AT ALL in print, which may explain why people took your initial OP so seriously. Having read it more than a few times now, it does sound like your totally going off on the guy, as opposed to just poking fun. This may explain the number of people that have jumped on this post in opposition to what you have stated. Lastly, I never actually said which one of the options Yoshi was debating on I like best. Truth be told, I personally don't care. Each of them would have suited my personal needs, including option 4, which is why I wasnt hating on it.
If anything I never thought I would see the day that many people would rage out over being given the total freedom to go where ever they wanted as opposed to being forced to go somewhere. Lastly, you and everyone else have no idea what the minority or majority is because these forums are only a tiny fraction of the player base. The post itself isn't irrelivant because its still on the main tab on the official forum page without some edit by you saying "Never mind they are gonna give me what I want now"

Only thing that's obvious is people like you are clueless and simply intent on finding something to whine about.
I don't agree with his chosen plan but it's clear why he feels something has to be done. There is NO 'good' option, merely the 'least worst', and IMO he's trying bery, very hard to find it.
You may disagree with him, but whining about him like you do with the silly and over-emo accusations you make makes anything you say worthless.
I've seen posts like yours on most other MMO forums where mergers happen, I hadn't really expected to see it here, seems no where's safe.

wtf is wrong with you?
do you LITERALLY think Yoshi sat back in his seat and went "hmmmm.... i honestly, in all respects, despise the concept of community in video games....lets do this!" or is it plausible that they came up with what they felt was a solution to a problem that needed to be addressed? the servers need to be consolidated, thats the bottom line.
the current option two still gives people the opportunity to go where they want. if your friends are so close to you then youd follow them and theyd follow you. neither 2 or 4 are much different, you will still lose friends that want to transfer servers either way.
so is the best decision to now allow any server transfers? i dont get it!!!
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
