Any, but gunblades. I want gunblades to be used to a redmageish job. I think soldier would fit better, similar to the shadowhunter skills.

i know im gonna get a ton of backlash for this, but honestly i kinda wish the 5.0 classes would start from 30 again, that way i still get a full story establishing the class before i get dumped into the high level story like ram and sam had (still salty though the absolutely excellent 30-50 drk storyline isnt rewatchable at the unending journey), but i do realise both putting the new classes in the hw areas was a fairly large hurdle people had to cross so putting sam and ram in uldah means you dont have to reach 4.x to start, and it meant you had to grind that class from 30 when you had been 50+ before (however the whole keeping all new classes within arr areas sidesteps that partially but not fully due to the whole 'also mustve completed prae first' bit)
hopefully they can somewhat lengthen the 5.0 50-60 stories to accomodate for more lore before going into the 60-80 stories
also im really hoping for whip since itd be a neat new moveset to see, 1h sword is in use, 2h hammer could always be part of war or drk glam, gunblade is prime for magitek knight being the 2nd maim user, daggers are already in use, rod was in use at one point, brush sounds cool but i dont think they could avoid it ending up looking too much like blam

My theory is this:
BLU: tank (would definitely be a first for this game)...as to what they use as a weapon, it wouldn't surprise me to see them use something along the lines of one handed swords, potentially dual wielded, and they would mitigate damage by channeling powers from various monsters/beasts. Maces might be a possibility too.
Gunblade: dps (I'm guessing it'll work like a reverse RDM)
Dancer: healer (kinda like they healed in FF XI)
Granted, regardless of what Gunblades end up being...as long as they aren't a healer, I am fine with the outcome. I've been waiting for so long.

For me it depends on the role.
If BLU was a caster or healer, I wouldn't really care.
If it's melee or tank, I'd like a mace or some kind of blunt weapon. The game has enough swords, let's get another blunt weapon user in there.
I can kind of see why people may want it as a tank because classic blue mage gets hit by spells to learn them. (Though many games have had other methods of learning the spells.) But I think a blue mage wearing Fending gear would look odd in a lot of cases, though that's just my two cents.

They'd probably need another gear type for them specifically, kinda like how DRG is still the only class with "maiming" gear. For me it depends on the role.

Could be maiming, or another physical dex based.
SE really messed up when they made MNK/DRG/NIN different and then put SAM with monk. Now they have to figure out how to balance 3 gearsets.
The only thing I see stopping them from doing all jobs at level 1, aside from them maybe thinking it's weird to have a job at level 1 considering the prestige that comes with most jobs lore wise, is class/job quest content.
I don't see them wanting to write blue mage quests from level 1 to 80.
Functionally, every job as to work at level 1 anyway because of POTD/HoH so gameplay wise I don't think it would be a problem. Just a matter of maybe lore, and having the quest content to pad out for eighty levels for the new jobs.

Quistis uses blue magic and a whip, whips could be an interesting weapon in this game, as a long-range melee weapon
