With the rumor/hopeful mill abuzz with the potential addition of Viera as a playable race one would think that I would be more excited. I mean, I like women and I like bunnies so combining them should be an all around win-win right? I'm not against them being playable, but it got me thinking about why we can't have a distinct non-humanoid race. If you're gonna pick a race from Ivalice to use then why not the Bangaa or even the goofy looking Nu mou or moogles?

As it stands all the races we have simply look like humans with extra bits stuck on to make them different. Even the Potatoes-That-Walk resemble human children more than a separate race. I know people just want to get their kawaii on with the cat/lizard/potato(/bunny) girls, but can't we have something that is very distinctly not human?

We need a race of playable otters. It can even just be the otter model used by the minion and HoH. It doesn't even need customization options, just that single otter model. The Otter of Light will break the servers.

I actually like the idea of adding viera to the game in gives us a race where the female is actually larger then the male nice contrast to what we have now and pretty cool plus bunny ears!

I have no problem with them being added, but can we also get bangaa or something else as well?

I can't imagine SE wanting to add a non-humanoid race to the game. Mostly just due to the effort that would be involved for fitting all existing and future gear to the race. I mean, c'mon. They can't even be bothered to deal with tails as it is. They just clip through everything, pants, skirts, capes, etc - no special accommodation for tails as they used to do back in the day.
