Such a silly opinion. Do you not understand that every single one person has hundreds of branching ties to others in anyone one server? SE is severing those ties, EVEN if you go through to a new server with most of your friends, it wont be all of them. This is such a bad thing for the community.

You've both missed the point entirely.

I am in Linkshell A. Linkshell A decide to go to server 1.

Friends 1-10 are in linkshell A too. They come to server 1. Yaaay.

Friends 11-30 are in Linkshells B, C and D.

Linkshells B, C and D all scatter to servers 4, 5 and 6.

Do you understand? Just because we are friends, some of us have stronger commitments to our Linkshells, does that mean that our friendships are worthless? or meaningless? NO. It means SE are morons.

There is also NO valid reason for scattering people so robustly, and if the server populations are so varied that merging 2-3 servers is an impossible solution. PROVE IT and post the server population numbers.

there is an option for a balanced server merge, where people won't lose friends
and there is an option for a balanced server merge, where some people WILL lose friends.

the real question is: why did SE choose the 2nd option?

Well, since this is what they're doing and it's not going to change, I suggest you get over it.

Au contraire... these forums are made especially for feedback and we've seen the devs base many decisions off our comments. The posts in opposition to the method are working to achieve something, whether they get it or not. You're not even making a counterpoint, saying why they should do it this way. Kudos to SirOleas for doing something constructive. Your post, trying to act like you are in charge of SE, is presumptuous, and accomplishes... your post count? I'm not sure.
