Make your friends comes with you, if they do not want to come with you then you are nothing to them anyway or they have better friends, the one that doesnt whines over such a trivial issues really.

"come with me or you are not my friend anymore?"

That is not waht i am saying. Thanks though for twisting my word, what i am saying is if they are my friends, the people i play with on daily basis. I will sit down with them one evening and talk about it further on how will this effect our future? Will i commit to the LS i play daily? If i was, will you be coming with me? or will you be comitting with your LS as well? if that is the case why don't 2 of our LS comes together into a server, i will talk with my LS and you will talk with yours. We'll find an agreement but if we happen to not meet there will not be any hard feeling, let's keep in touch?
That was what i'd do instead of whining because i am sure i won't miss random strangers i don't really play with, maybe they made what my server was, but they will nto effect me in one way or another because we don't really play to begin with.
The point of this thread is that all of this tireless communication to desperately hold our friendships together shouldn't have to happen. There is no reason why SE can't merge servers as they have done with FF11 in the past. That is not waht i am saying. There is reason, players doesnt only consists of JP or NA players, so u cant really divide it by two. There are minorities on other timezones that doesnt have enough players on daily basis to do contents, these are the people suffering the most. Majorities NAs and JPs will handle fine even if they get distributed to random world, they will be able to easily find another LS and move on with their life.
While minorities will still struggle if they doesn't have freedom to server transfer. What FF11 has done in the past is only merging two-three lower populated server into one, that doesnt solve the problem with minority.
So merge it, then allow server transfers. They are already allowing a 2nd phase of server transfers after the merge, so just make the first merge a straight merge to maintain communities. There is reason, players doesnt only consists of JP or NA players, so u cant really divide it by two. Problem solved. As like 100 people on this thread have suggested, how is this easy solution lost on you?
You don't see where i am coming from because you are not from minorities probably. Say my server and your server merges, now servers has healthy amount of players but miniorities still lacks in numbers, they want more players on their timezone but now none of them can really convinces majority of their LS to moves for their sake because they are alraedy on healthy server. So merge it, then allow server transfers. So now they have to pick between strangers with same timezones as them or stick with their LS? with total freedom we have now, we can now discuss things early and start discussing this on multiple forums or early recruitments and find a good server to hopefully be able to make veryone happy.
I am from the UK, I am in the minority. I have never said people should not have the opportunity to pick a server. I'm saying that the ones that don't wish to be moved, shouldn't be , and I quote 'distributed' across the worlds. There is reason, players doesnt only consists of JP or NA players, so u cant really divide it by two. didn't mean to be rude sry.
but let's face the facts:
- normally the most friends are in the LS where you spend the most time, but there are other friends in other LS as well
- you won't manage - even when you "sit down with them and talk" - that every LS where your friends are in goes on the same server
- you know the "let's keep in touch thing" doesn't work quite well being on different servers, we both know that. i want to play together with them, not just having a +1 on facebook
it's not whining. it's giving feedback.
there's a merge method, where the population doesn't have to be split and this thread is all about the lack of understanding, why this announced disadvantageous method has been chosen.
