That would actually be a nice addition. Good way for all your characters to have event glamours or cash shop glamours. Which sadly means they'd never make that a thing because gotta get that $$$.Now this might be a bit crazy, but how about this:
If we can create 8 characters per server allow all 8 of those characters to share their glamour dresser space.
Every time a player unlocks the glamour dresser on a character, 200 slots are added to the total. If a player unlocks the dresser for all characters, they get 1600 slots.
An obvious restriction would be to limit retrieval of an item to the character that originally added it, of course.
Crazy, I know. However, they already have to reserve that space for a player to potentially create eight characters. It would indeed be grand if there were some way that all that dresser storage could be shared between alts.![]()

ive got a couple more things
Materia and Paints are now have currency like menu
when retainer summons it'll say there name in the text box (i have a bad memory and summon retainer again by accident sometimes)
let people buy multiple Trials of the brave books for the arr relic
Armoir allows all AF gear af 1,2 agumented,3 anemos,Anima,Zeta and Anemos weapons and let stuff keep the dyes it has on
TBF the old crafting sets in HW were blue and could be spiritbonded, this expansion they allowed us to spiritbond dungeon gear, maybe in the next they will allow us to spiritbond tome/raid gear
The real reason why you can't repair other's gear in dungeons is simple: it's because the gear degradation rate is accelerated in dungeons/raids/trials/instances and especially if you are KO'd as FFXIV's equivalent penalty to FFXI's EXP loss on death penalty - it is a way of increasing 'challenge' to the game by making you play against your own gear degradation and penalizing those who are simply not good enough, without being overly harsh. So if you're dying a lot, naturally your gear is going to degrade to 0% rapidly, theoretically (although I've never once ended up with 0% gear condition in ARR at least, well, apart from.. that time at the end of the *cough* Alpha test' *cough cough*). It also serves as yet another gil sink as the more degraded your gear, the more expensive it is to repair it at a NPC gear repairer.
Hence this is not something I see them changing I'm afraid as to SE, it's 'working as intended'.
EDIT: and I'm an idiot, I meant repairing other player's gear not your own.
The problem is, the Calamity Salvager and the Armorie work in different ways (not to mention the whole point of the Calamity Salvager in the first place was a 'run off' for Legacy players who had too much gear in 1.0 for the reduced ARR inventory to hold when they imported their 1.0 characters into ARR - 1.0's inventory had 200 slots rather than the default 100 ARR started with - SE added extra functions such as sellign quested armour and weapons after you've acquired them to it later on which are independent of the Armorie. The two are just too different to each other to amalgamate. So I do not see SE doing this I'm afraid.[*]Collapse the Calamity Salvager into the Armoire! ...Don't try to visualize that... The Salvager sells pretty much all the items in the Armoire plus more. Keeping them separate is silly. You already have to track what each character has available at the Salvager so why use more server space to track the same items' availability from a source that's 20 seconds away (Quicksand Inn room to Salvager)? Figure out which is easier to re-code to have the functions of both and remove the other. I think it goes without saying but just in case: make sure this new abomination is still connected to the Glamour Dresser.
Except they have already stated fears about clipping while wearing bulky footwear like armoured greaves is the reason why they are usually reluctant to add true knee length skirts (it's due to how the knee bends would not be able to be hidden under the skirt's texturing if it was knee length):Originally Posted by Fytayn;4735514[*
Knee-length skirts! We had ankle-length skirts, mid-thigh skirts, miniskirts and wide belts (just admit it) in ARR. HW added a few mid-calf skirts (Gryphon Leather Skirt etc.) and that was expanded in SB to include more Jobs/designs. There is still no skirt that ends just above, at or just below the knee despite that being a very comfortable, convenient and stylish length for skirts and the like. Any clipping issues couldn't be worse than what you allow with long skirts.[/LIST]
Of course as they mentioned it doesn't mean they can't do it, it's something that would require more work to model than normal so I don't see it as something they are willing to look at I'm afraid, despite Yoshi's personal willingness (as someone who wears skirts of that style in real life I can definitely support having them in the game for my character thoughOriginally Posted by Gildrein

Q: Suzuki, are there any plans to implement a skirt where the length is somewhere between a mini-skirt (starter gear for female Hyur and Miqo’te) and a long skirt (spring skirt)?
A: Due to system specifications, we've yet to make outfits like this. The reason is that when you combine these with equipment such as darklight boots that comes up to your knees, the graphics with a long skirt are covered around the knees, and for mini-skirts you’re able to see everything. With designs that are somewhere between these two, however, the interference is noticeable. With that said, I understand that players would enjoy more variety in our designs, and I'd like to take on this challenge.
Yoshida: This is a difficult issue, and there are also opinions that since it’s a FINAL FANTASY game it wouldn’t be good to have skirts overlap with other equipment. However, not implementing something due to this would take away the opportunities to enjoy other kinds of gear variety. I personally feel it’s fine to do this and think we should be adding more variety to gear, so the direction we are going is to add as much as we can based on the requests we receive. It’d help if you can all overlook the aspects where there are overlaps.).
uh? You can repair yourself in dungeon, actually you can do it even mid pull
I'm not saying it would be easy, and I wouldn't expect it any time soon, but it would save both player time and server processing if the Armoire became less of an inventory and more of a checklist that updates like the Salvager does. The Armoire already displays items in a list form rather than the grid used for all other inventory functions, much like the Salvager does, and both the UI and interaction between the Dresser and Armoire implies a "retrieve copy" option could be made available. If not that then a "Purchase Copies" option could be added to the base Armoire menu. Items placed in the Armoire lose any and all traits (spiritbond, durability) that a base version of the item purchased from the Salvager would have. Finally, changing the Armoire to be more like a vendor list of items than true storage should reduce the footprint which has restricted how many items the Armoire could hold. I admit they were made for very different purposes but as you pointed out the Salvager's original function is pretty much irrelevant now.The problem is, the Calamity Salvager and the Armorie work in different ways (not to mention the whole point of the Calamity Salvager in the first place was a 'run off' for Legacy players who had too much gear in 1.0 for the reduced ARR inventory to hold when they imported their 1.0 characters into ARR - 1.0's inventory had 200 slots rather than the default 100 ARR started with - SE added extra functions such as sellign quested armour and weapons after you've acquired them to it later on which are independent of the Armorie. *shrug*As I said, they already tolerate a lot of the problems with long skirts that they claim this would cause. The "shells" (there are definitely multiple layers of the hidden skirt object) which skirts/robes/etc are displayed on already exist. If they're worried about hidden parts of the model not being covered by a knee-length skirt then treat it the same as a short skirt in terms of what's hidden -- better to be sure. Although I don't understand this point because my character has been flung through the air wearing a skirt and there's no hidden part of the model... Their problem only arises if they intend knee-length skirts to remain static like short skirts rather than flowing like long skirts and, well, that's kinda cheaping out.Of course as they mentioned it doesn't mean they can't do it, it's something that would require more work to model than normal so I don't see it as something they are willing to look at I'm afraid, despite Yoshi's personal willingness (as someone who wears skirts of that style in real life I can definitely support having them in the game for my character though).

Oh ty, I was confused.
edit: GDI it was even written, why I'm so blind?
Feed Jonathas to the dresser, as well. Most of the stuff he gives out is either obsolete or for glamour purposes. Save the player the extra steps and just give us dresser access to the items that based on Achievements and Quests. I suppose if the player really wants the item they can go to Jonathas or the Salvager to get the item, but updating the dresser automatically would be a nice addition.A repost from this thread but I think all my points add something here.

I'm really tempted to make this the new quote for my forum sig.
