How about, I get to keep my old friends and get to meet new friends from a new server?
And WHY go with it when other options are available? Option 2 provides us with the directions our communities need, and the freedom members like you want.
It's not that any of the options are horrible. That's what Yoshi P said. Every option has good points and bad points. He said that the offices were in heated discussions.
OF COURSE he made the decision "at the last minute". That's like saying "Well I found my lost item in the last place I looked." Once he decided, discussions were over and the announcement was posted on the L-stone.
I think he realized that they could argue until the cows came home, but deadlines are deadlines.
Have you never been a part of a blanket merge before..? Particularly from the side that is coming in? The tension is almost palpable.
You DO get to meet your new friends, and I don't have to feel like a third wheel joining a server owned by whoever it is we're getting merged with. How about, I get to keep my old friends and get to meet new friends from a new server?

Yes and yes.
I've not had this problem.
Though to be far, it was a free MMO. Don't know if those are different.
Isn't that how we ended up with XIV in it's original form?
Because all the other threads are getting locked, I'll just post here for the record:
I'm for the server move as is.
The only change I'd make is to suggest coming up with all new names for the servers ahead of time so we have something to choose from.
Ok, everyone, back to your QQing, sorry for interrupting.
Blanket......merge...........?????
..............A SNUGGIE?!?!?!

Player
I personally favor a server fold lowest pop to highest pop. I don't get why they even considered 4 as an option as it has some of the worst con's where as 1 would be the most logical from a $ pov and favors what seems to be a larger potion of the player base....
