Yes I love feedback, but it doesn't have to come out in the form of a temper tantrum ;/
my feed back is that I like the current set up, but I see many strengths to others feedback as well. But we can act a bit more grown up about this, your mothers would be ashamed *bends those who deserve it over her knee*

As a customer since CE and a paying customer since P2P, they need to step up there customer service, this is bull and the people who are for it, mustn't see the other side that others are speaking from...

and yes we do have time to prepare, why should we tho? we have our damn community.. we all would love a merger, but at the expense of possibly losing friends is pretty lackluster specially since our *Bond* with community is so important, but they are all for easily tearing our community apart.. F That!!

Yoshida did specifically ask for constructive feedback, not "OMG SE YOU RUINED MY LIFE BECAUSE I CANT CONTACT MY FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF THE GAME TO COORDINATE A NEW SERVER TO JOIN WITH THEM. IM ALSO IN 7 LINKSHELLS THAT HAS 100 MEMBERS EACH AND WE MAY BE SEPARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATED."

Um... they gave us options after the fact. This post I bet you was built upon and quickly released BECAUSE of the back lash, but making it seem like it was their plan all along. It doesn't make sense. Which usually means it is a lie. They could have just said, "Yeah, our bad. It wasn't a great option, you're right. You pick which option then"

Instead, they quickly release a statement making it seem that it was their plan to give us an option all along. If that were true, we'd get the options in the original front page post, but they didn't.

Reasoning still stands: they gave us options. All ppl are bitching about now is " you mean I have to put effort into contacting my friends and organizing a new LS?!"

Seriously on Lindblum LSes are always reforming for one reason or another. Besides theres no achievement for having the longest established LS without reforms.

It's all laziness.

SE is letting us all decide if we want to switch or not.

There's two sides to every coin: maybe some ppl WANT to change servers just to meet new ppl. Well this way at least both sides get the option.

SE is trying to compliment both needs.

And yes there's a varietable amount of ways this can be done and yes these forums are for player feedback, but the majority of posters are downright crying and bitching like little children. How is that "constructive criticism"? It's just plain belligerence. There's nothing "constructive" about the way most ppl are presenting their concerns.

Huh?! I suppose that as many of us he plays because he likes the game, but he also knows that it still needs a lot of improvements. He just gave his opinion about this important matter. Don't mistake complain with critiques.

Maybe the linkshells you join have a tendency to break up, but Savepoint has been around since CE, and while yes we are currently viewing our options and contacting other shells and making sure our community stays together, its an inconvenience for nooooooooo reason.. thats what I think you are not understanding.. Option 1-3 are far superior and more affordable options but SE being SE has to think outside the box..

I haven't so far heard a single convincing argument why SE made a wrong move with this.

He already addressed what everyone's posting and reposting. If you still have questions, I suggest you read YoshiP's post again, however, this time more slowly and with less bias.

He doesn't address all our concerns, even though some people are saying "selbina is 5", there are ls that might make autonomous decisions to move to another server, it sucks when you have to pick which of you're ls's you're the most committed to, and will think will have enough returning players after the server merge. Following my friend on the lodestone doesn't help me if they get moved to another server. Do you even have stubborn friends? If my friend logs on and he's on a different server, he won't transfer at 2.0 he'll just quit the game, and move on, because many of us older mmo players are tired of finding new friends, even if its for a couple months until 2.0 comes out, its not worth it to mesh with a new server just to transfer over again, many will just quit playing till the option comes out.

People on the forums forget, not everyone who plays FFXIV is on these forums, there will be people left out of the loop, I mean i'm in college, I dont always play, if I wasn't on the forums, i wouldn't even know about this merge, who knows if i'd check by march, that's prime time for school ass kicking.

Unless everyone knows everyone on a server, the "community" for each person on a server is something different and depends on the bonds that person made with other people. Like Gramul said, we're talking about huge spiderwebs here. If you have a small linkshell with 10 people and you consider the bonds every person has in that linkshell and want to get everyone who those people know to the same server and the ones they know... you'll probably end up dragging half if not the whole original server to the new one.

It's not just a matter of a few linkshells that need to move to the same server -_-

Then why not just use the community forums--which I bet people are already doing--and say, "Hey guys--everyone from this server let's just all go to X server!" instead of complaining more and more and saying why it doesn't work? Why spend this time arguing here when you could be doing that? .-. And if they picked Option 2, you wouldn't need to care anyways--like Vaen said--Yosh asked for feedback--so who knows maybe it'll change before then.

Stop being so negative and not thinking--"oh we get the option to choose anything? We're screwed!"--and more like. "Well, they gave us this forums--HEY EVERYONE FROM THIS SERVER LET'S MOVE TO X! 8D" Which would be almost as close as you get to Option 2. For those friends you hold so dear but don't read the forums--then tell them in game? For those friends who wish to return in 2.0--just tell them where you went? .-.

You asked for a merge, and they gave you it. Most are unhappy and complaining--so they asked for feed back--IN A NON-"this option is horrible--you guys on crack!?" way. So if you want it changed so bad--say why something else would make more sense then the other--it would help your cause more to exclude the "You guys suck do it this way because I said so" manner...

So like all the server noobs that you LOL at every time they run buy in town will now be on another server and you have to relearn every acquaintance. Strong LS bonds will stay but every guy you kind of like from that party you had with him at level 30 and then that 1 time you did ifrit together and he didnt suck...well no more of those casual bonds. LS group or nothing! I pity people who play casually.
