What you showed me was the number of players logged into each server at times roughly around 23:00 (presumably JST) on an unspecified date. This disadvantages servers with high NA populations, etc. I learned nothing about the number of characters on a server...

I noted that the information may not be entirely accurate. I also mentioned that even if the margin of error was quite large, Gysahl would still be WELL within the top 10.

You, however, have posted nothing at all other than your original claim. I know, evidence is such a burden.

I'm honestly baffled that option ④ was chosen. If the community had the option to choose the method, I wonder what percentage would have chosen option ④.

The "community" doesn't always know what it wants. Rather, much of the community can only relate to their own personal desires. The people who support option 2 rarely give a damn that eight entire servers would have to come into an already well-populated server as unwelcome guests.

It is. It's always three chocobos, I posted rudimentary numbers that fans were able to ascertain, as well as anecdotal evidence of my own.

You keep dodging the issue, however, as you have nothing at all to suggest that it's not a top ten server. Call it a pet peeve of mine.

I don't get it at all... A blind man can see that most people are not agree with the choosen method.

So why SE just set a poll how the community want the server merge between the 4 given options.

Since this 4 options was in discussion between the dev team, it shouldn't be a big problem to change the way the server will merge.

I mean to choose the way where most ppl are NOT agree with is not very customer friendly imho :x

As far is i´m reading the German Forums too, there is no one who really prefers the Option 4.
Most of them are complaining and would either choose between option 1 - 3, cause no one really wants to play on a German/French server only, this is a fuckin MMO i want to play with people all over the world and not log in @ 2 o clock am and see no one online cause everyone is sleeping.
And even the French and German players are often in NA Linkshells and have there many friends and a good time even with no other German players.

So SE make a poll, and see which Option is prefered, maybe for each language an extra poll and you will see how wrong you are thinking.

This probably has been mentioned before, but: Any chance for an official EU server for English-speaking players, or are we too few in numbers?

The English 'translation' is really misleading, I'll present to you the exact words of YoshiP in Japanese which says literally EU sphere, and nothing about French or Germans specifically,

EU圏（といっても非常に多くの国と地域があります）の方々が、
できるだけ、同じタイムゾーンでプレイできるように

So that the players of the Eu Sphere ( Yet, it has an extremely large number of countries and regions) can play in the same time zone as much as possible


So yeah, I'd say that he intended for server 10 to be recommended for all EU players, including English speakers, considering the text in brackets that specifically refers to many countries.

I would like to post some of my thoughts concerning the World Merge after reading Yoshi-P post.

1.Thank You for taking the time to explain you decision processes concerning this. Not many game Producers would. Kudos

2. Though I understand your thought processes I feel you came to the wrong conclusions based upon faulty or incomplete information.

3. The biggest error that I see that you made was the timing of the merge. This is coming shortly after Ver 1.21. It is apparent to me that this patch was going to be the defining one for the game prior to Ver2.0. Many people left the game when subscriptions started with the idea of coming back after Ver 1.21 to see if they really wanted to pay for playing the game til Ver 2.0. A merge date of April would have allowed you to determine how many were actually going to stay which might have altered your decision. It is not too late to do this. PLease consider it.

3. This goes hand in hand with #2. I fully understand and support your decision to base the merge on the number of actual subscribers. Thing is that number could change a great deal after Ver 1.21. Please take those player into consideration. Those who do not come back will have to take their chances prior to the implementation of a World Transfer System.

4. I have reservations about singling out 1 world for French and German players. While I understand your concern about giving them a community to develope of their own due to the small number of subscriber I personally feel that this is only going to lead to a sparsly populated world as many of them will opt to stay with the friends they have already made among the General Population. This is the 1 case where you should have taken a poll to determine the feasability of such a world.

5. Having said all this I think you will find out that you best option would have been #2. Having been a part of 2 World Merges in FFXI I know that, for whatever reason, a number of players would chose to start over on a world other then the merge worlds. I believe this would have helped to prevent overcrowding on the new worlds and would have contributed to an even distribution of the populace that you are striving for.

6. Lastly. You do not have to apologize to me for being human. The flu can be dibilitating to people who are not workaholics such as yourself. Let this be a lesson. Take care of yourself.

I support Option 4. Thank you Mr. Producer.

I would venture to say the the people who oppose option 4 are the minority. Yes, that's right, the minority. Just because small group of people are making a lot of noise, it does not make them a majority. Out of all the people that pay to play, I don't see a majority of them here showing their opposition to option four.

I could go on and on about the behavior here but it's not worth my time and I won't be back to follow up on this thread anyway.

I hope that the time of the linkshell hopper comes to an end soon. You don't need a pearl or a shield to make friends. If friends are that important then they will get together and all stick together. If someone isn't following you where you want to go, I would suggest that either they aren't a good friend or they think you aren't worth following. Either way, not much of a friendship.

Anyway, Option four is loaded with nothing but logic. By the way logic isn't arrived at by evaluating your feelings.
