I appreciate your patience as we worked to get Yoshida's post translated. Please take a look.

I will never move from my stance that we should be told what our world will be called, alot of people call as I have said before people will get bonded to the server, we get things like xxx server > yyy server because people form a bond with it, if I was on say Bodhum because I really didnt like FFXIII compared to other games, or Rabanastre because I personnaly found FFXII subpar compared to old games.

should of learned to used the search function, people this forum even said "why should it use it." i bet money people will still cry about not able to find a party post merge. then theres gonna be another problem for them to whine about.

Server merge was inevitable. The method of their planned merge is highly questionable and forces all subsribers to pick a new server and lose contact with friends which is what MMOs are all about. Yoshi even said so, but he is intentionally chossing the worst option out of thefour options that they considered.

That would be too mainstream bro. SE is an avant-garde company always trying to come up with the greatest new ideas and innovations in order to push the industry forward, you can't just have them wiggly waggling servers like every other game does.

For this it would actually strengthen bonds--why you ask? Because it forces said community to collaborate and discuss with other Linkshells or w/e where to go. As Yosh stated of course...

Honestly, after reading that post I'd prefer option 2 myself. Since for all the complaining people it'd say "Here's the world where you're all going! But if you don't like it--that's okay too, you can pick yourself."

Then again, when I think about it--it sounds more complicated on their end then just saying "Pick your world be happy."

But like he also said, they already know they can't cater to all the players--and the fact in 2.0 there's going to be a transfer service anyways... Who knows? Maybe for those reactivating who haven't/were not active between X and Y period get a free transfer. /shrug It's all up in the air what's to come besides what was said.

When I asked for a merge (I actually don't think I have on this site) I expected something along the lines of a typical MMO merge. Not something that completely ignores the effectiveness of server merges in most MMO's in the past.

I think the way it is now could work; I think option 2 would be easier on us, not necessarily them, especially with overcrowding possibilities. I'm okay with 4 and understand why, but would have been less stressed with 2.

Most servers are going to come together and pick which new servers to port to anyway. Just take a peek in all the server threads.

Trabia specifically has many linkshells and we do our own thing, but we all help each other out in some way. Most of us are in a good place atm and get along with each other. We know how to deal with each other. We have a history with each other. It's not really what the community wants. At all. Like, how did they not factor in the instances where severs generally as a whole really like each other and probably don't really want to be ripped apart?

It's ridiculous. Again, we're just all going to select the same server anyway. So, why present this option? This option has the least logic to it. Also, I find it hilarious that you mention that you were later going to give us a chance to pick which option is better AFTER you release this information. Just admit it was unintelligent and that you are wrong for choosing it. We'll forgive you.

Just stick with option B and be done with it. It's the only one that makes everyone happy and if you have to work MORE to make it happen, whatever. We're paying customers now. We should have the basic option of how the hell our community is managed as we f^&*ing built it. Don't know why I am so angry. I'm just so disappointed in their decision and it tells a story about the decision making of the development team. If these are the options you mutually agree on how the hell can we trust in your major decisions in the future? You've already displayed how unintelligent it can be. I am a big believer in if people or things show me who and what they are about, I believe them the first time.

We have been forced to discuss and collaborate with others for more than 15 months now, that phase should be DONE. I have so many friends divided into different linkshells but at least I always had the certainty that we were on the same server and could play together...

But not anymore, I am being forced to stick with just 1/3 of them because Yoshida has decided to not care about community and socialising, which is the one thing that kept this game alive in the worst of times. Ask anyone who was around and most will tell you they only logged on to see their friends (I know I did).
