I've got a close friend who can't play right now because of real life issues. She came back before the game went pay to play and had to disappear after. It's not that she doesn't want to pay, but it's hard when you're moving between places and trying to get back on your feet. She told me before that I was one of the reasons she kept playing this game. And now thanks to a stupid decision like this if she can't get back before the end of next month she's going to be shipped off to a random world. A one in ten chance she'll land on the same server as I'm on. This happens, she probably won't be playing anymore.
A decision like this hurts a lot of business. Who's really going to return to a server where they don't even know anyone because all their friends are off on another server? It's not that everyone out there does feel the game isn't worth the money, some do, some don't. Some can't afford it or have IRL priorities that come first. Still, this news is pretty much forcing people to pay for the game right now even if they don't want to, or risk being thrown into a random server and pray it's the same one as your friends. If people were going to wait to come back to I can almost guarantee that this will make sure they don't return ever.
Please help me understand. If your friends are not worth 10 dollars are they really your friends?
Don't know what to tell you.You mean all the people who are currently away till "2.0" or the people I don't have in my linkshell but talk a lot to, but they have to follow their own linkshell? Or the people you lose when you finally picked a server to go to and then ends up being "full" and others are left out. Sure you can switch to another server with your current active linkshell members, but getting all those other types of people all over: no way.
People who aren't playing(Thus not paying) don't get to decide what they do with their inactive data.
I saw nowhere in the announcement that there would be a limit to any particular server so I don't think the "full server" issue applies here like it did when the game launched.
I also find it hard to fathom that there would be NO options down the road for people who do come back for 2.0.
That would be terribly short sighted on SE's part; I also think it's terribly short sighted on the community's part to think that there wouldn't be options down the line considering the fact that new worlds will be created for 2.0 in the event of a large influx of subs. Server transfer's for a fee would not be out of the realm of possibility and is considered a standard now a days.
Freaking out now does nothing.
I don't know why people think that they're going to be split from their friends forever. There's a ton of options to get you guys together in the future when your friend decides to play again.
Everyone who knows me, follow me. I'm too lazy to follow everyone I know.
Well...won't we be transferred again to New Servers come v 2.0 and I presume the population restrictions will be lifted then so missing friends and LS members still may have a chance to find you.
Remember that this merger is just to increase populations for current subscribers in order to make partying easier, improve the Markets/Economies and presumably create a fuller gaming experience for paying customers.
Papa was a rolling stone...wherever he laid his barbut was home.
not even server names lol![]()
