About the World Merge and Character Transfers (02/09/2012)

First of all, on Wutai aren't that many German players and I am kind of happy about it, even though I am German myself.
Of course it would be nice to play with a few more Germans, but nearly a whole Server of them? If I wanted it that way, I would have joined Lindblum in the past (sorry guys xD).
I like playing with people from all over the world and I have to mention that FFXIV isn't the first MMO I played so far, so I don't really care about timezones! [At the weekend I use to stay up late, so there's always someone online to play with.] Another reason why I wouldn't want to join World #10 is simply the fact, that I do not want to read shouts like "GER only" or "FR only"! Yup, I've never read such shouts on Wutai.

Since I read that post about the reasons for choosing that merging solution, I as a german player do not want to be the one who's to be blamed for their 'solution'!

Don't get me wrong i do agree option 1 is simply the best option but from what i can tell option 4 seems like the most likely way to kill the game, now i could be wrong but how much money has been already sunk into this game and up until recently it has been free seems to me this is a cop-out its almost as if they are trying to sink the ship.

Also, with this method (option 4), you also have a high chance of having people randomly pick one world over others and we will end up in the same bad situation we were originally in (highs and lows, instead of balanced). However, with the servers being at a cap to stop this overflow from happening, even if you have 6 linkshells band together to transfer to the same server, suddenly it will be full and it may be too late to choose together once the time comes. Then, you have 3 server's worth of linkshells that made it in, 2 server's worth of linkshells that managed to get together, make a quick decision and go to a different server that isn't full, and then another group that went their own way.

You do know you have a week and a half or more to shift the group around to fit everyone in right? its not pick a server... if it gets full before everyone gets there, your screwed. If it fills before everyone gets in, the whole group can relocate to another server before the transfers are locked in.

I did not realize this, no, but the problem is that even within a week, people have jobs and lives, making it difficult to get the message to EVERYONE in the LS because of differently play-times. Without the ability to leave some sort of LS message, some people will get left out because officers might not have been on that day, or plans changed at the last second but they worked the whole weekend. It's like they want us to play Server Roulette.

I realize some/most linkshells have a website to call their own, but as a leader I found it hard enough just getting people to check the schedule/forums once a week. What happens if we have to change plans 6/7 days in and we lose half of our linkshell because of it?

I know that on the FR and GER Lodestone World #10 is recommended for EU players 'cause of the timezone, but I also know that on the NA Lodestone, it says it's recommended for GER/FR players. Just checked it and as I can see, someone changed it :S
But still Yoshi mostly talks about GER and FR players in his post...

By the way since those news yesterday I thought they'd merge servers as it's explained in version 1/2. If there will be a poll or so about it, i'd choose one of those options and not number 4.

EDIT: I just looked for Yoshi-Ps original post and asked Google Translate (xD") for help. I know that Google Translate is really bad, but in that translation there isn't that sentence "We put focus on GER/FR players". It actually says "we put focus on european players"... meh.

This double mistake in the translation is screwing up the chances to get a server with a descent EU community, thats sad ><

They need to make it clear in all the translations:

option 1: Server 10 is recommended for EU time zone
option 2: Server 10 is recommended for FR/DE languages.

If its option2, even the FR/DE will run away from server 10!
