You could use that "one time phone call" and get his info ^.^
I would also enjoy playing with most of you on these forums, yes we have our differences, though, I think it could be really fun. You could also get your chance at bugging me with your goobuuu![]()

If he is a RL friend and he trust you (or someone with access to his computer/account) he could simply have someone sign him up and get him going that way. All they would need is his account info/passwords which if he trusts them he should be able to give out.
Like many people I have several friends who have had to stop playing for one reason or another. Many were planning to come back in a few months. I say "were" because I am pretty sure that when I tell them they will be shipped off to some random server and we probably won't be able to play with each other again they will never come back. Likely, they will tell other people how much they were punished by SquareEnix for daring to take a break from the game. For an MMO with one of the worst reputations on the market this decision is baffling.
I know this post/thread will probably not be read by anyone at SE. But on the off chance that someone is listening it would be nice if they rethink this a bit. At least get a "pay to transfer" option up and running.

Players who do not select a destination World during this period will be automatically distributed across the Worlds.
What a TERRIBLE system. I don't want to be split up from the hundreds of people I am familiar with on Trabia. I'm not in linkshells with all of my friends, I have many friends across trabia, some I only know from the occasional crafting agreement, some I have defeated ifrit with and others xp parties.
Distributing us ACROSS worlds will scatter us and ruin the community I love, this may very well ruin the game for me.

This is exactly how I feel. There are many players in Saronia that I've only had fleeting contact with (occasional meetings in Ul'dah, Dark Hold runs, Crafting) and now SE will be splitting us all up. In fact, I know many people with two linkshells that have designated two different destination worlds.Players who do not select a destination World during this period will be automatically distributed across the Worlds.

for once I wish SE post the time in GMT as well and now only PST duh -.-"

I've got a close friend who can't play right now because of real life issues. She came back before the game went pay to play and had to disappear after. It's not that she doesn't want to pay, but it's hard when you're moving between places and trying to get back on your feet. She told me before that I was one of the reasons she kept playing this game. And now thanks to a stupid decision like this if she can't get back before the end of next month she's going to be shipped off to a random world. A one in ten chance she'll land on the same server as I'm on. This happens, she probably won't be playing anymore.
A decision like this hurts a lot of business. Who's really going to return to a server where they don't even know anyone because all their friends are off on another server? It's not that everyone out there does feel the game isn't worth the money, some do, some don't. Some can't afford it or have IRL priorities that come first. Still, this news is pretty much forcing people to pay for the game right now even if they don't want to, or risk being thrown into a random server and pray it's the same one as your friends. If people were going to wait to come back to I can almost guarantee that this will make sure they don't return ever.

This game isnt aobut making freinds or having fun its about getting the highest ranking on ffxivpro, its serious buisness.I've got a close friend who can't play right now because of real life issues.
