SE... if you go with 4, at least make sure inactive characters made before the merges have 1 free transfer credit that they can use upon reactivation. You will lose many of those people waiting for 2.0 to come back.

I could not agree with this part more. They seem to have no problem catering to players that don't play this game right now the rest of the time they are making decisions, I don't see why they chose to stop here. I hope that later down the road (possibly during 2.0 launch) they offer that as an option. People shouldnt be punished for not wanting to pay for a game thats in the condition its in now. I hope they change this down the road.

I read the response made by Yoshi-P earlier and given time to think it over I'm not really concerned so much now over their plans with Option 4. What I don't agree with though is why they're still making inactive players suffer. Why is it so difficult to let inactive players choose a server too? There's two options:

1.) Make it an option in the SQUARE ENIX Members account page. Upon logging into your account there you can designate which characters inactive or not, will be sent to which server. Give active players first priority on this. Inactive players will be marked as a lower priority meaning that if their choice of server fills up with active players first then they're instead sent to a different server. Or to make it more fair, let them choose up to 3 servers. If their first selection isn't open it defaults to the second. If not that one, to the third. If all 3 are taken, they're defaulted to the least populated server.

2.) Send them to a random default server if one isn't chosen before the date. Upon first reactivating a character and their account, they're then given the option to stay on their currently assigned server, or migrate to a new one providing their chosen server has an opening. This option remains in place indefinitely until they choose and accept a server for each character that's reactivated.

Using the above options it still gives players who are paying right now the higher priority but allows those who aren't playing for whatever reasons to choose a server without being shafted. It's highly unfair that they're pulling this stunt, and personally I believe it may be influenced as an incentive for people to start paying right now.

I don't get it at all... A blind man can see that most people are not agree with the choosen method.

So why SE just set a poll how the community want the server merge between the 4 given options.

Since this 4 options was in discussion between the dev team, it shouldn't be a big problem to change the way the server will merge.

I mean to choose the way where most ppl are NOT agree with is not very customer friendly imho :x

As far is i´m reading the German Forums too, there is no one who really prefers the Option 4.
Most of them are complaining and would either choose between option 1 - 3, cause no one really wants to play on a German/French server only, this is a fuckin MMO i want to play with people all over the world and not log in @ 2 o clock am and see no one online cause everyone is sleeping.
And even the French and German players are often in NA Linkshells and have there many friends and a good time even with no other German players.

So SE make a poll, and see which Option is prefered, maybe for each language an extra poll and you will see how wrong you are thinking.

I would venture to say the the people who oppose option 4 are the minority. Yes, that's right, the minority. Just because small group of people are making a lot of noise, it does not make them a majority. Out of all the people that pay to play, I don't see a majority of them here showing their opposition to option four.

I could go on and on about the behavior here but it's not worth my time and I won't be back to follow up on this thread anyway.

I hope that the time of the linkshell hopper comes to an end soon. You don't need a pearl or a shield to make friends. If friends are that important then they will get together and all stick together. If someone isn't following you where you want to go, I would suggest that either they aren't a good friend or they think you aren't worth following. Either way, not much of a friendship.

Anyway, Option four is loaded with nothing but logic. By the way logic isn't arrived at by evaluating your feelings.

so which server is for gays only? can we have a server 11 for the lesbians and gays only please? and a server 12 for international gays? am i asking for too much?

Yes you are. Gays and Lesbians dont all speak French and German. Develope one single language that gays and lesbians speak, and I will be all for backing your right to have your own server if thats what you wanted. Until then, keep quit confusing one issue for another.

My European linkshell has been discussing server 10, and the general consensus over there seems to be that we want to stay away from it. Everyone seems to prefer a more international / global setting.
