How so? If they fully deleted the characters, it would just open up the names to be reused. It doesn't truly hinder them more than a few moments, but at least it means they can't use the same names on repeat.

The "random name" is how they used to do it.
Speculation is that SE suspends the accounts, but doesn't delete the characters, that's why the census shows hyur midlander's as the most common player by millions.
From a technical perspective, they can't delete characters because it would result in the user id number getting recycled, and thus bots end up taking over "deleted" character slots in peoples friends lists and linkshells. SE should still mark the characters as "deleted" or suspended so the lodestone doesn't fill up with these things.

Ooo... I may feel so inclined. The bots will basically accept party invites from anybody which makes it really easy to mess them up if you feel so inclined.
They'll only drop group specifically when their script calls for it, generally if they need to complete a solo duty or party up with other bots.
This also means you can get into instances with them and see exactly how they do their thing.
-cue maniacal laughter-
Go into a dungeon as a WHM with a bunch of them and just not heal at all. It'd be a total waste of time, but fun to try. >![]()
