In my case at least, I think that's a little unfair. I have no issues with bulk of the post I quoted this from, same goes for your response in the duty rating. It's when you cross sweeping generalisations with stereotypical raider hate that I start to take umbrage. 'All raiders do this', 'all raider say this'. No, they don't. Trust me, I've played alongside most of them (in the EU at least).

As far as things to tax a healer and actually make them heal. The frustrating part here is that SE has come so close to doing it already. The problem is most mobs simply throw out weedy auto attacks, a telegraphed aoe and maybe the occasional tank buster. Kalyia or whatever it's name was in FCOB Turn 11 (The big metal dragon thing that cleaved and had the orb adds and player tethers) was a bit more interesting in this regard. It cleaved, constantly, in progression gear it forced tank's to share hits, constantly. It felt like big metal monster that was doing it's damnedest to chew your tanks to pieces. More erratic cleaves, autos thrown at the second place target list, latching onto the healer etc. More variance and believable mob attack patterns would go a long way I think.

I'll give you credit for citing actual examples. Rather than respond to them individually, I'll just relink a thread I made a while ago (I linked it earlier, but I think you ignored it, because it's me, rather than reading it and judging the content as it were).

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ork-%28LONG%29

It talks a lot about the methodologies and functions of tanking, healing, and encounter design. It offers up some solutions as to how they could be changed and how that would impact content going forward. Whether the solution is any good is up for debate, and I always welcome it, but some of what you mentioned is captured in there.

If you can put the fact that I'm a raider aside and our past heated discussions I'd appreciate your response.

I personally feel there isn't much meaningful discussion to be had with them unless they start changing their attitude towards people and stop blaming everyone else for the misdeeds of a few totally separate individuals.

You can't expect people to listen to or care about someone's suggestions when they can't keep rude biased comments and attacks out of their posts.

Despite their claim, it isn't about their ideas being "wrong" or people wanting them to be wrong. The issues are with how they present their suggestions (usually laced with rude generalizations towards groups of players) or sometimes full blown rant posts dedicated to vilifying and negative generalizations about specific groups or sometimes even entire servers (remember that rude post they made about the Cactuar server since they dislike some posters from that server?)

I am not a doormat and nor are many other people I would think. If you want people to listen to you, then you best not be rude to them based on biased generalizations and prejudices.

Most people will just ignore your suggestions if you offer it with one breath then with the next breath you insult them. Or if you skip the niceties altogether and preface the suggestions with rude generalizations about entire communities.

No one has any obligation to care or listen to anything other people say in the first place, so if you actually want people to care or have a discussion with you about your ideas? Rude comments and generalizations about communities in which some posters belong to isn't going to get the response you want.

They put it in their public posts and if that is what people choose to respond to instead of their suggestions then maybe they should stop posting unnecessary hate, prejudices, and negativity that detracts from the discussion?

This behavior has been going on for years. Guilt by association and faulty generalizations is something they very much believe in, but unfortunately that kind of mindset isn't something that people will respect you for.

They have had plenty of chances to actually be respectful to this community, but they have failed continuously.

After you hit level cap, there really is no reason at all to do any leve of any kind.

    That is bad design.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Mh, not really they can still give you crystals if you want, I know it's minor but there's that

Tbh, since They've changed their use to be crafter only I think we might not see anymore battlecraft leves, I suppose their effective use has been completely taken over by maps and deep dungeons for the exp.

All i can say is, I'm lowkey happy I'm not on same datacenter of some people in this thread. Going on a crusade for getting kicked in a casual DF run 4 years ago? Petty.

While I'm sure they'll eventually make savage versions of instances to stretch content thin, they've pretty much already got treasure maps for what you suggest for leves. They just need to make some that are more about skill instead of completely bonkers RNG to get to the final room.

Going back to OP. Savage+ dungeons would be a nice introduction although something I would like to see as a reward is better loot rewards as a gearing process. If we look at 4.2 upon release we get 2 dungeons that we farm for glamour and tomes. If the dungeons also unlocked a savage+ difficulty after the initial completion. If this new difficulty provided slightly more tomes for more work and higher gear rewards such as for example the 325 gear set on normal difficulty as catch up gear and the savage difficulty having gear drop which is possibly 345 in ilvl which would match the previous tier weapon ilvl but not armour. This could provide a longer duration on the gearing process for raiding for midcore groups and possibly hardcore groups. It could further be enhanced to the current 350 crafted gear if used as crafting mats or desyth to get materials to keep the crafting alive and more meaningful. Therefore the curve of the raid tier could be easier for Devs to develop (I hope xD) and for players to see a more satisfying climb to clear til the end expanding the life of a patch. Normal raid gear would still be on a weekly lockout and given its normal 350 ilvl if crafting was unavailable to some players. As for the + side of the dungeons as OP said should be a level up dungeon system that provides achievements/mounts/leader boards etc to keep the content still engaging.

I am not the best at writing down my ideas or thoughts but I think this would help out the patches. As for the odd patches where only one dungeon is available the same system should be implemented with just ilvl gear rewards that match catch up gear (possibly 355).

Can we have more regulation in regards to some people posting to ague just for the sake in auguring? There is a lot of it going here by one select poster that goes off the subject and is consistently twisting what is said for further arguments. I rather read suggestions, not this person attacking everyone then have people ague why that person's comments are invalid.

Why don't you just stop with your toxic hate torwads raiders? I mean the only thing that you do, in almost every thread where it comes up, is expressing your hatred against raiders in general.
You say they are egoistic, i say they are not more egoistic than every other player too. Some raiders may not want to play with randoms, which is completly understandable since a lot of people have the mindset that they can do what ever they want because they can get through the content. What these nice people don't know is that the 7 other people had to do all the work because this one person doesn't give a sh.. about the people he/she plays with. And yeah if you are this 1 person, parsers suck because they will show that you didn't do a thing.

I could go on to counter all your arguments but that wouldn't make you think once about your toxic behaviour torwards others and it would make me waste a lot of time for nothing...

Oh and i'm not a raider and i still say that people should be able to carry their weight, the argument with "paying a sub" and "its a game/hobby" doesn't count because everyone pays a sub and its a game/hobby for everyone and i doubt that people who do any sports as a hobby just stand around if their teammates work their butts off.
