Quick question on Samurai and Red mage

    Hi Guys And Girls

Just thinking about this, not sure yet. If I start two characters and boost them to 60 with all the bells and whistles will I be able to use the to get the Red Mage and Samurai ?.

I don't want to do it and be told "Sorry you're to high of a level to get them".

Also which class should be boosted for each or does it make any difference.

    Thanks

As long as it's a Disciple of War or Magic it doesn't matter. Boosting them to 60 won't affect your chances of unlocking Red Mage or Samurai.

As long as you have Stormblood and you have registered it to your account, you will be able to unlock RDM and SAM as any Lv50+ job. There's no such thing as "too high level" to unlock things here!

One small thing though: the RDM and SAM unlock quests are both in Ul'dah. If you start as a MRD or ACN, you will start in Limsa Lominsa and you will not be able to travel to Ul'dah until you advance the main story to the Emissary quests, because Vylbrand (the island that contains La Noscea) and Aldenard (the main continent) are inaccessible to each other until that part of the story. Characters who start in Gridania can run to Ul'dah without that story restriction.

If you want to boost a job that uses the same gear as SAM or RDM, choose MNK for SAM, or BLM/SMN for RDM. Incidentally, the PGL (baby MNK) and and THM (baby BLM) guilds are both in Ul'dah, so starting as one of those would put you in the correct city.
