[REQUEST] Please make these items dyeable.

Lately I've noticed that most Achievement, Quest, and Seasonal Event Rewards have been dyeable on release, which is very nice and how I would prefer it to be. However, there are many older items that I sometimes think about using for glamour, and then ultimately don't because they aren't dyeable. Personally, I've assigned a specific color palette to each of my characters, so the issue I have most often is that the default color of the item simply doesn't work with my palette choice.

The items that I would like to be dyeable is a much shorter list... but I've seen similar topics crop up from time to time regarding other pieces of gear too, so I thought I'd try to put together a comprehensive list of all the glamour items currently in game that I think should be dyeable.

A final thought in regards to items that are sold for real life currency on Mogstation, including previous Seasonal / Special Event Rewards... I especially think these items should be made dyeable. In addition to increasing their functionality for players who want to use these items for their glamours, I also think that simply making them dyeable would also increase their perceived value to players who have not purchased them yet. A potential win-win scenario, as players who have already purchased the items will be happy with the new functionality, and players who have not purchased the items will now have additional reason to do so.

Lastly... I reviewed items stored in my Armoire, items purchasable from the Calamity Salvager, items listed on the MB, and items listed on the Eorzean Database on Lodestone to build this list. I specifically did not list any dungeon gear, as dungeon gear appearance is often re-used for crafted gear sets (that are dyeable) later on. I would definitely prefer dungeon gear to be dyeable too... as there are already some outlier sets that are (Level 50 Darklight gear and Level 61 Ghost Barque gear for example), but I'd figure I'd start with the glamour gear first.

Most of these literally have colors in the name, so they likely won't be changed to dye-able.
Then there's the Tribe Gear, which is supposed to represent the Beast Tribes specifically, so will likely also not be changed.

I did cut out everything I agree with should be dye-able, though.

The fact we still get undyeable stuff at all bothers me, on top of some stuff beginning to have far stricter class locks on them than previous expansions. I would really like for a good majority of undyeable gear to be updated so we may dye them - especially the old ARR hunt gear, off the top of my head. I have wished for this for many years now.

I totally agree with this. We currently have a half-implemented dye system at this point where some gear we can dye, and a good majority we can't. Then you have the problem of SE implementing two versions of items - one dyeable, one not (e.g. High House Bustle / Rainbow Bustle, Falconer's Shirt / Ramie Shirt, Expeditioner's Coat / Dhalmelskin Coat and more!). And then my absolute favorite - the flower corsages.

This is just obscene and unnecessary. @.@ Had they made these dyeable, we would have had ~8 different item models vs. 50+ items.

Need some kind of way to get people to buy more retainers, a lot of people knew for a long time they intentionally bloat inventory to make more retainer sales. Why you think the app locks out more space in the chobobo bag and access option to buy another retainer? They artificially create a need for "premium" services.

Be nice if they made all gear able to be dyed.

This is especially disappointing when we went from the 1st SB dungeon having dyeable gear back to non dyeable for every every non-contest winning dungeon gear =_=

I would really expect the MogStation items out of everything else to be fully dyable considering the only way to obtain them is with real cash anyway. Ok yes the gear is trademark to the respective characters in the game so having a single colour would initially make sense, but making them dyable isn't going to break the game. A lot of us would like to dye Thancred or Lyse's coats to feel a little more unique with our glamour, kinda silly it's not been introduced by now. Next outfits Alphinaud/Alisaie coming soon, $20+ and no way dyable....

I really think this is the big issue. The game has so much item bloat to try to steer people towards retainers it's ridiculous.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
