Depends on the group. Some groups don't care about the score and just stock up a full set of poms/magicites on lower floors and start skipping things killing bare minimum to unlock key and floor up to save time with the additional perk of not hitting as many mimics. If they do that you might not get back to 99 if you drop it too much. 10-20 is probably safe though. I see groups looking for 80/80. The boss kills gives you a bunch, too.
