    In HW certainly, less people single-cast Stoneskin in the middle of a fight, and SS only did 10% Max Health mitigation. In ARR it was totally more of a thing, which I had to learn when I healed even Garuda Ex or Levi Ex (especially on lower HP party members). Back then SS did 20%, and was wonderful to have, even with a Sch's mitigations. That much isn't speculation but actual history; also history were the White Mages who overdid it on casting and replenishing SS, and wondering why they had no MP.

    Compare to now when I run something on Whm instead of Sch, and I find myself either sitting on my thumbs until the raid damage is done and over with, or else pre-casting Medica II so the regen will help the Medica or Cure III post major attack.

    I'm glad you agree it's all speculation, though, as to how much use Stoneskin would be these days. With my luck, the effect would have been dropped to 5%, which would certainly have been a waste, imo. What I'm saying, however, is that it would be nice to have a fully re-instated stoneskin. Between that and shields from Sch or Ast (in Noct), something like Neo's Almagest would be less heal intensive. Would it be likely to have this again? No. But still nice to think about, and hurts thinking about when enemy mobs, current ones, use it.

It's already a pain to have to switch in and out role skills, it's not something I want to keep doing also for my normal job skills as well. Essentially everything has its place on my bars and prefer to see the cooldowns at all times, hell some skills are in the exact same space on multiple jobs just for the convenience (i.e. Hallowed Ground/Living Dead/Holmgang or Lucid for the casters etc).

    i appreciate you may not have issues with space yourself but everyone has their own little setup. Though regardless going back to the previous concern, some jobs still have more action bloat than others and having 10 role skills could force some players to rearrange a few things.

    I never imagined I would actually see some people complaining about this. How is this a bad thing exactly? At worst, it changes nothing; you aren't required to use the extra slots just because they're there. At best, it means you don't have to decide what to swap out when you come across a fight that would benefit one of the ultra-niche skills.

    How do you propose that would work though? You can't have all 10 slots always open or else low levels would be unbalanced. You could assign each ability a level and have them unlocked gradually, but that comes with its own problems and is fundamentally worse than just having you unlock slots and being able to put whatever skill you want in it.

    It's better to keep the slots and just increase how many we have until they can come up with a better system.

    Edit: Ignore me. I completely forgot that role actions already do have levels.

    You know that actually all base classes can use 10 cross role skills currently, it's only the jobs that have restriction of having 5. Of course I know that classes don't have as many abilities to begin with (without their job) but essentially you could have have a lvl 50 CNJ synced down to level 10 yet still have access to every role skill they have unlocked.

    Re. PS4 hotbars, it’s not just about the amount of button slots but where they are positioned and how easy it is to access them. Plus skills with cooldown times or random procs ideally need to be visible so you know when to use them again, but at the same time you don’t want to waste your “front row” slots on skills you’ll only use once a minute.
