What's up with the Monster Hunter armor?

Not being familiar with Monster Hunter, I like the gear for what it is. I prefer that style to full armour so I think I’m glad they changed it.

...ah, now those comparison pics have been posted, I’m *definitely* glad they changed it. They look very bulky.

Well I'm glad people aren't as jaded as me and enjoy it for what it is haha
Still though, if the problem is it's too bulky there are other versions of the armor that are less bulky and could have been used:

it's not any bulkier than Darklight tank set.

That one makes me think of the Amatsu set. Maybe the pieces can be combined into something like that...? (For people that had access to that temporary event anyway.)

Just like Monster Hunter World. Their faithful recreation of the MH:W experience is impressive.

i think from the live letter they said that the armour lore was was meant to be a "eorzians' interpretation of what the armour would look like" instead of the standard, either way i kinda like it, never was a big fan of the female Rathalos armour from Monster hunter, and i like this new look.

On their own, the sets look perfectly nice? Just generic unless there's more going on the backside we can't see there.

I just find them really hard to associate with Monster Hunter as it has none of the "crafted from bloody bits of the mons" elements other than some scales.

Their perfectly fine pieces of armor, but I just don't understand why they're included in the Monster Hunter event. They could come from any part of the base game and no one would bat an eye.

I just can't comprehend why the armor is gendered. If they were bringing over a design from Monster Hunter, then I'd understand and deal with the armor showing thigh skin with glamour as usual.

But these designs look nothing like anything from MonHun, so why do female characters have to deal with inaccurate item icons, no pants, and a lame top? I don't get it.
