    Possible future encounters/primals

    Hi folks!

Since I am a big fan of asian culture and mythology overall, it was really cool to see Susanoo, Byakko, Tsukoyomi and Qitian Dasheng (Sun Wukong) as encounters.
They are very iconic figures in japanese/chinese folklore, and I would like to talk about, which encounter or primal could possible come in the future.

    -Suzaku, the red bird
    -Seiryuu, the blue dragon
    -Kouryu, the yellow dragon

We already beat Genbu, the black tortoise and Byakko, the white tiger. So it is very likely that Suzaku and Seiryuu will be within the next parts of the "Four Deities" questline, while there is a high change that the dragon sealed in the forbidden Urne is Kouruu and will be an encounter in the future.

    -Amaterasu, the goddess of sun

Since we fight Tsukoyomi the moon goddess in 4.3 (which was an awesome fight imo), it would be cool to see her counterpart.

-Yamato no Orochi, the eight-headed snake

Also one of the most iconic Figures in japanese mythology. Yamato no Orochi is the giant eight-headed snake, Susanoo slayed after he made her drunk with sake.

    -Izanagi & Izanami

The siblings Izanagi & Izanami were the first gods that came down from the heavens to create Earth and are the origin to many gods like Susanoo, Tsukoyomi and Amaterasu.

So, what do you think? Which encounter/primal would you like to see, or do you think will come in the future?

The only primal I really wanted to see was the Ark, and it was already included in the game as the Cruise Chaser. I really like mecha, so the Ark was my favorite summon thanks to that and it's awesomeness as a summon. It being reduced to the penultimate boss of Alexander's raid series was a bit disappointing, but at least it was put into the game.

As for what could be put in later on...? Who knows.

Suzaku and Seiryu are fair bets, as we need to round out the Four Lords, and Kohryu is a reasonable bet due to being tied so strongly to the story and the other four. Beyond that one can only guess.

Me? Well, I'd like the original Four Fiends... and perhaps Chaos, with a phase transition into his Dissidia Feral Chaos state. Beyond that I'm content to just roll with the punches, and as they've included past bosses / villains as well as original creations, it's anyone's game.

FFI Fiends are highly unlikely, given two are already in the game (Tiamat is a benign dragon npc in confinement in Azys Lla and definitely bears the player no ill will, and Kraken, is the end boss of no less than two dungeons: Hullbreaker Isle NM and Sastasha Seagrot HM), so that just leaves Lich and Kary/Marlaris/Marliath, which, I presume will show up in some form probably eventually, but not as a full set.

Really instead, I see the FFIV Fiends appearing instead. The Magus Sisters would also be great to fight as well.

But the previous FF summon I would love to appear in FFXIV eventually would be FFVIII's Doomtrain (no, FFVI's Phantom Train in Omega: Sigmascape does not count, as it's something completely different! ). And SE themselves have long hinted at it in multiple locations, so, fingers crossed!

I'm aware that Tiamat and Kraken (well, a kraken) are already in the game as unrelated NPCs, but the fact that Halicarnassus exists as both a dungeon boss and raid boss with no connection beyond the former being the naming inspiration for the latter opens the possibility of alternate versions of Tiamat and Kraken being connected to the Four Fiends, assuming they all show up as a group at some point. XIV is very often touted as a nostalgia trip - how do you get more retro than the Four Fiends?

Unless, of course, it's not really about nostalgia...

Ehem. I'm not opposed to the Four Archfiends of IV but I'd still appreciate the original Four Fiends from I.

Part of me wants to see reimagined primals, but I can understand if people don't want to retread old ground. Like Kobolds have Titan, but another breast tribe has their own version of Titan who's much more stronger than the original. It wouldn't be a reskinned Titan, but a different model, new mechanics, but same name. I'd say go this route if we run out of mythological creatures to beat up.

FFVIII has a whole slew of summons that would be interesting to see. Off the top of my head, there's Quezacotl, The Brothers, Pandemona, Doomtrain, Eden, and technically, Griever.

Doomtrain and Eden would probably be the most interesting as there isn't that many inherently mechanical summons and both of those summons feel like something Garlemald could come up with...

Ironic that we're trying to come up with future Primals when we're likely visiting the nation that hates Primals so much to have Publicly declared an essential War on Primals (which they accomplish through Genocide and Conquering)

on a sidenote, I'm thinking whatever Primals we get, one will be an ancient Allegan Primal, a secretly made Garlean Primal, and an Ascian "Primal"

Ah yeah, Griever, he could be a cool fight. Not exactly the most orthodox of summons, really powerful... it'd be interesting if he came into play somehow, especially if it was in Garlemald.

It's closer to a "war on religion," but that's off-topic...

I would really like to see FFXs Anima - simply because I could image her being a pretty cool fight, with possibly having the party split up to fight the upper and the lower body at the same time during certain parts of the fight.

And even if we're having creatures called "Valefor" already, we got hints that she could be come sort of summon during that quest with the Doman refugee kids. FFX is my favorite, so I'd really like for her to appear as a real, proper summon - and not only as some weird, demon-like creature in LotA...
