Triple Triad Tournaments?

Is there any reasonable way to get into Top 3? Every time I try to go into the Battlehall, I'm lucky if I can get two matches before the instance goes dead and no one wants to play anymore. Meanwhile, the top person in the tournament on my server has 20 matches and 20 wins on Day 1 of the tournament.

I have three or four cards that are exclusive to tournament prizes left and it feels like there's some kind of TT clique that I can't get into.

Do a shout and then challenge people inside the hall. Works for me.

Oh, I've tried that before. Only got one match and then that person left.

It's luck of the draw and when you manage to get in there. Push comes to shove, my recommendation is to try your best with NPCs and hope the consolation platinum packs favor you. I've gotten a card or two from them already.

Consolation seems like it'll have to be what I go with. I think I've gotten Firion or Warrior of Light from one of them once, but usually I just seem to get Shiva and Ultima Weapon.

Way I see it, while it does eat away at my completionist soul, it's not like we're in any rush to complete that collection. There was a void in my life when I got all the normal booster pack cards, so I'm ok with this taking a while longer.

Remember that you can play against NPCs for the tournament as well. Doesn't score as highly, but while I was still playing I regularly scored in the top ten just playing twenty matches against Nell Half-Full. Twice, I placed in the top three solely playing against her. Even if you only manage a couple of matches against human opponents, as long as you win every game against Nell you should still do well.
