FFXI had the same problem. SE did nothing about it until it threatened to destroy the game. Only then did they crack down on the RMTs and Bots. Sadly they are following the same path to destruction here. Something to think about Yoshi-P. All your grand plans for content are valid only as long as their is a viable game to play.

I wonder if anything will happen to those certain famous fc members who were confirmed to have rmt involvement. This was in reddit and not in-game of course.

It sure shouldn't be the case since xiv has lot more resources and more advanced technology.

Without even logging in I'm pretty sure I know exactly who you listed, and I've bashed heads against this guy once already. I'm pretty lazy as far as master crafting goes (not even selling anything at present) but even selling what little of my ground sloth leather remained was a chore because this person has no regard for the value of items.

I even tested this. Automation or not, within minutes of setting the value of an item he undercut everything to be listed first.

I was fishing the big fish in Coerthas Central Highlands one day, in Daniffen Pass area. Whole day, even 2-3 days, there were bots appearing and killing mobs and then disappearing etc. I reported 5 times. They did absolutely nothing.

There's someone on Cactaur pulling the exact same stunt that the player the TC mentioned is, so they're at very least running the same botting script, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually the same individual as this type of script doesn't seem to be publicly available judging from how few people use it. While undercutting on its own isn't anything suspicious, the frequency and amount of time this individual spends doing it (They remain online for days straight at times) is what makes it obvious.

It's gotten extremely frustrating to try to sell anything now as they practically control the market for crafted gear, while multiple other botters are fighting over the infusion/food market which has been subject to so much price degradation as a result of their market flooding that it scarcely seems worth the time investment to craft for gil from the perspective of a legitimate player.

As far as the other types of bots go, they've also become a lot more numerous to the point where I've seen parties of people from the same FC going around zones in a conga line completing FATEs and there's also been a rise in "casual" botters who'll spend maybe a day bot farming something on their main account then stop for a long while until they actually need more of the stuff.

On one server on Primal, and one server on Aether. The bots that are doing the gil farming all stand in the exact same place (behind the FC guild chest in Gridania and Ul'dah.) They're of the same quantity and naming scheme. There is no way that SE staff doesn't know they're there.

The Lodestone actually reveals all these bots every time they create a button-mash guild name.

More to the point, the ads for RMT are showing up at the top of google searches.

IMO they should have people that will go undercover as soon as they got records. I mean if a certain amount of people report someone for obvious botting, why not sent someone there (heck they can even turn invisible) to watch them.

But yeah why even bother if they wont to something against those that bots for months and nothing is done about it..

Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Because the bots can see when GM's appear because it's info sent in the network stream. They have to appear as a normal player.
