FFXIV already has a decent library of sound effect, ambiance noises, and BGMs. However, I feel that the world itself seems really quiet during actual game play. Sure, there's the sound effects from crafters and the tapping of footsteps, but that doesn't seem to set the environment's tone.

An example of setting the atmosphere can be seen in a lot of the cutscenes. Take Ul'dah's second cutscene starting the main storyline, where you enter the Quicksand. In the cutscene, there's a small ambiance of people chattering. Sets the environment of a public place where people gather.

Why not also apply the sound dynamically over the actual playing field?
Here's an example of what it could sound like if Ul'dah had ambiance chatter noises;

So, what do you guys think?
Should SE push their sounds developers to focus on using more atmospheric music and sounds to the environment they are in? Or is it just too distracting for the player, and should be kept the way it is now.
