Character Creation Has A Race Problem

I honestly just feel that a new topic/thread should be created because the well has already been kind of tainted and we're getting closer and closer towards the point that Sadako will come out.

I’m fine to discuss character customization limitations and problems with the current character customization system; I’m not fine to discuss “race problems” that don’t exist.

It’s cute that you think I’m the insecure one here, though. It’s also cute that you continue to ignore your own threats and statements of forum violations while you continue to violate these “rules” yourself. This entire thread has been a derailment from its intended purpose, and you are fueling that. Take some time to recognize that.

I can point out where you're breaking them, while you can't do the same; all you can do is state it without anything to back it up.
You had plenty of chances to start discussing the idea and topic yet you wanted to discuss what the merits for discussing race suggestions were. If anyone's responsible for not discussing it make sure to take a look in the mirror. I was the first person here who brought up the fact that all you're doing is deflecting/finding anything to talk about except the idea/suggestion.

Okay here's an example. So Bengal Tigers are going extinct. This foreigner guy comes up to your country with this brilliant idea to save all the tigers from dying but at the same time he shows disdain towards the people of the country. Do you, as a member of the country:
A. Set aside your differences, get over the guy's attitude, accept the suggestion, and save the tigers.

Or

B. Refuse to support the plan because you don't like what the guy says about the country and all the tigers die.

Pick. It's not about real life compared to the game, it's about the principle.

This is a disingenuous comparison. It implies the OP is 100% accurate despite the initial claim being widely exaggerative and unsubstantiated. A better example would be that same foreigner presenting a theory they believe will benefit tigers yet doing so in such a ill perceived matter people are either skeptical or entirely dismissive. You can have the best idea in the world, if you present it poorly, you lose the audience's trust and barring absolute evidence, many will tune you out.

Once again, if the OP wanted to actually discuss customization in good faith, why not show humility, acknowledge the faulty start and try to sheer the conversation towards it? She didn't. She doubled down repeatedly and blamed everyone else, thus people continued the derailment. Is it just the OP? No. We all have contributed in our own way, but that happened long ago.

I mean, if going off topic is report worthy. Couldn't we have reported you for derailing your own thread about the proper citation etiquette? That lasted seven pages in a thread supposed about... Eureka, was it?

I just made an African-American character on the character creator. She looked pretty awesome. Sure the skin pigment is just a dark tan, but that's true in all actuality. People of African origin just have darkened skin pigment because their ancestors were outside all the time, and the majority of Africa is plains. Basically it's an all year-round tan that was just a genetic heredity trait. Heck us Caucasians just spent time in caves and forests, hence why our pigmentation is very light and white in color.

Actually, they did studies on this, and it's because the original European diet was lacking in vitamin D, so we had paler skin tones that block less sunlight to produce more vitamin D in our skin to compensate.

Just because you state it doesn't make it true. Some of you here have a habit of making accusations without proof, it really speaks volumes. Furthermore, if your personal vendetta is that strong that you need to look into other topics to avoid talking about the topic then that actually says more about you.

I think we can all agree that rather than saying there's a race issue, we definitely have a character creation issue. How long have we been asking for Au Ra horns to be a separate option from the face?

My husband made a hispanic looking hyur (since he's hispanic) and it looks really good. Only problem is, is that you can't make your character overweight, my husband likes making his characters overweight when customization allows him to, because he is on the heavy side irl. But it doesn't bother him that he can't.

I really like the cornrows + long ponytail combo. Ladies already have dreadlocks, a pulled up version would be nice too. I also think midlander ladies have something somewhat similar to the first picture, but its been a while since I tried making a hyur so my memory might be fuzzy. Wouldn't mind it (or an updated version) to be unlocked for everyone tho.

Aggression is bad no matter what. It's not fair to say you agree with Valkyrie's aggression so she's right but disagree with Nandina's aggression so she's wrong. Aggression is aggression. And Valkyrie's chose to talk about the bit of race stuff in Nandina's post and then got aggressive with it, instead of simply responding to the suggestion. She could've even said a bit a both:

"No I don't think we need this or could have this because blahblahblah.

Also, please don't make this a RL racial issue blahblah."
But that didn't happen..

In my opinion, yes, I agree with what valkyrie said. And yes, I disagree with some of the premise of the OP. So what you're saying is, because I agree with one aggressive post but not another...my own opinion about the matter is essentially flawed? That is some...wow, I don't even think there's a word to describe this. This calls to mind a meme featuring Xzibit doing wordplay. valkyrie did essentially say don't make this a racial issue. What, that has to be spelled out exactly for some people to actually comprehend it? I fail to understand how somebody can say that this game under-represents as if it were either intentional or that the devs were tone-deaf. Honestly, I am 100% surprised that a community manager hasn't popped in with a warning like they have with prior threads.

But it seems like you're attempting to right this shipwreck, so let's see how that goes. More hairstyles would be nice, yes - this community has beaten that horse to death so many times, though. The character creator as it is...sucks. There's just no other way to put it. When compared to other IPs that have come out, it just pales in comparison. With all the energy that has been put into this thread, I'm willing to bet folks could've realized that this thread was going nowhere, started a new one...call it 'Post your requested hairstyles', and let that gain traction. The thread could've been players posting screenshots of the kinds of hairstyles they wanted, and I am positive that it would have actually been far more productive than this mess of a thread.
