X360 Wired Controller

I have been using my X360 Wired Controller since I started playing XIV. But yesterday I went in with my PC to have a new motherboard, cpu, etc installed. Since they did a complete reinstall of my SSD, windows and XIV. Now when I try to do connect it to XIV in Config, I get: Gamepad not found. All drivers etc are installed.

But when I pulled and inserted USB many times, my controller went from Player 1 pad, to Player 2, those 4 green dots on the controller.

And XIV now finds the Controller, but it will not allow me to customize which function goes to what buttons, but having to select from 3 Presets.

Is this something new they have done to Gamepad users or am I just overlooking something minor. Cause as the controller is now, I keep making mistakes

I suggest trying Xpadder if you cannot fix the problem.
