Eco Botters ruining the last fun thing to do in FF14

After doing almost everything the only thing keeping some people going is the eco play and RMT's are starting to fill in more and more, for some reason since the billing started it seemed to increase by a TON.

Why is SE not banning obvious RMT companies??
Retainers Fonda fondb fondc fondd fonde fondf are obviously RMT retainers not only for the names but they sell 10-12 stacks of ash tuna every single day for the past MONTH, even if you played 24 hours its impossible to get that much EVERYDAY on just one account especially for a month straight. Ruining eco play, last phase of the game and task force does nothing.

    What's Eco play?

Also, I'm sure SE is aware of them but they have to actually do something against the Terms of Service which requires an investigation on SE's part.

eco=Economy? Playing the markets at buying and selling. That's the only thing I can think of that it could mean

I think it's less the name of the retainers and more that the retainer names suggested that one account controlled all of them. And if one account did control them all, how was this player able to keep 10+ full stacks of bumblebee tuna up on all six retainers for 30+ days straight?

If that is the case, I'm not sure how long it would take to get 300+ stacks of tuna on one character under the current regime.

@UnrealTai, I think rather than a single character fishing up this tuna, it may have been three accounts fishing up tuna, each with their two retainers. RMT *usually* do not have to worry about subscription fees or software costs, due to theft and deception (the latter sounds ludicrous to me, but nonetheless, happens more than I suspected).

I'll keep an eye out for suspicious fishermen.

As a 44 Fisher I can say fish pile up in your inventory a lot faster than you'd think. At one point I was sitting on about 15 stacks of bone crays, 20 stacks of crims, 30 stacks of black ghosts, and misc amounts of velodyna carp, ash tuna, ala mhigan, etc. You just sell what's going for good at the time and keep building up the others for when they go up.

Not saying there is absolutely NO RMT play or botting going on, but I am saying I don't think there's as much as you think. I sell a lot of all the above listed fish and quite often see stocks of them hit low enough that people start hiking prices.

If you want to fix "eco play", then start threads about people who take an item going for 2k and put stacks up on stacks of them up for 500g.

On the other side of the argument is that RMT or botters generally make low-rank items (shards) and actually undercut the market. Marxism suggests that economic models function on a reduction of price as opposed to an influx of currency.

There is a good and bad to the dilemma.

This is the number one reason why SE (and anyone with any brain) did not want a "price history" in the markets.

It always ruins the economy because the players start seeing "discounted" mats [eg someone sells an item usually selling for 2k for 500gil] and believe that is the "normal" price for that item.

Without price history: once all of captain 500g's mats are sold out (quite quickly) that problem does not occur as only a few players even saw it; and saw it in comparison to others selling it for 2k realizing it was the BEST DEAL.

Furthermore anyone playing the market, who wishes to maintain the price of a given item; can simply buy up any "discounted" mat themselves then sell it for the rate which they feel is "normal"; if they so want to "stabilize" the price on something.

etc, and so on, ad nauseam....
