Monsters That Creep You Out in FFXIV

FFXIV has some disturbing enemy designs. What are some that genuinely weird you out sometimes?

For me, the monsters that always creeped me out were the giant toads:

And this thing here...It's called an Aetees. It's not the most intimidating creature but it's eyes always gave me the creeps. What makes it more odd is the description which basically stated that it once was a hyur man who overdosed on Phurble Blood and became one:

Unpopular opinion perhaps but paissa definitely creep me out. Something about them is distinctly Seussian (the face, probably) but their limited animations make them super disturbing.

Beyond that, the Ahriman models and Avere's flying head are hella freaky. The one with the weirdest childhood-gone-wrong vibe would be Number from Eureka Anemos. As for critters I prefer to actively avoid despite being able to waste them in a few hits, morbols are at the top of the list.

(Can I note here that 'ground squirrels' and the angry chinchillas randomly living in Coerthas Central Highlands are all aardvarks?! wtf)

I can definitely see how Paiassas can be creepy. It's the eyes! lmao. And I totally agree with Avere's Ahriman model...to be honest with you, mostly everything in the whole Edda Storyline is disturbing. It's honestly why it's one of my favorite story arcs. Disturbing but tragic especially if you've kept up with the events of what happened back when you first meet her before Satasha.

Phurbles. They look cute from a distance and when their backs are turned, but when up close and seeing their faces: *shudder*

Other players.

Those damn giant toads with their wide-eyed stare. Any time there's a pull with them in a dungeon, I have to single-target them, even if it's not the most effective thing to do. Especially in Dzemael Darkhold and Arum Vale. Whatever makes them despawn faster.

Also those giant heads in Doma. Not just that they're slimy-looking heads with mouths full of needles, but the disturbing way they sorta.....melt when they die.
