    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    I'm assuming that you are able to get past the login screen, correct? The freezing occurs after you hit the green 'Play' button?

    There is no 'check files' option but have you tried reinstalling the game? Did this have any affect?

    Does switching between DirectX 9 and 11 mode make any difference?

    Yes. I log in hit play button and the screen comes up displays rating and SE logo. then just sits on a black screen.

    Nope it does the same in other mode.

    Have not done this yet I was hoping to avoid a massive reinstall, but I guess that is what I will try next.
