    Tanks that annoy the heck outta me.

    Those that stand righttttttt at the border but not inside of a dome shaped heal. AST’s collective, SCH’s sacred(not that often since the area is much larger), and WHM’s asylum. Especially AST’s collective, the regen is high.

    I don’t understand. How hard is it to move 1 step in? Just that 1 step! Won’t cause the boss to turn. Just that 1 tiny god damn step.

    And to make things worse? The tank that set off this rant is a friend. He had the audacity to reply me, “why? I don’t need that heal.” When I asked him why won’t he move into my Collective during Tsukuyomi EX(after gun Nightfall, before tank buster, duration was enough for him to receive the regen).

    My fellow ASTs would know that Collective’s size is almost the same as Tsukuyomi’s hitbox, when I stand right under but behind her, I can cover everyone.

    That reply was the moment I thought, “yeah eff this I ain’t gonna effing heal you anymore.”



    Edit: Standing in the boss' hitbox DOES NOT EQUATE to standing directly under the boss. Please know the difference. So many people do not get this. =.=

    Mmmmm, maybe......stand closer to the tank when you do this? Maybe place your bubble in a better position for the tank? I dunno. Just a thought! It seems like this really bothers you <hands chill pill> There...taste the happy....

    What really irks me is when they pull one pack of adds then stand there and hit it for a few seconds, so I plop down Earthly Star or Shadowflare or whatever, then they pop Sprint and run to grab two more packs leaving my lovely bubble behind. Ugh!

    Yes, it annoys me to. Sometimes that happens because the tank stutters and doesn't know what to do. Sometimes they see the healer running ahead and they'll be like "Well, big pulls I guess..." and then they start moving forward. But you what two mentioned, also happened to me and yes, it's annoying.

    As someone that plays all 3 healers, I always get annoyed with the DPS standing outside the Oort Cloud where my AoE heals don't reach them. -.- I usually adjust to the tank+majority.

    I will say sometimes that unavoidable, at least as a warrior. Overpower's cone doesn't always hit all the targets if they're spread out too much so I have to reposition and swing again before I can move to the next pack, unlike dark or pld who have decent size radial aoes.

    Healers can move alot easier than tanks. I would rather not have the tank face the boss on the party just to get in the aoe heal. Just adjust the aoe placement. kthx.

    If it’s something like AOE raid damage that an AST is trying to mitigate with Collective Unconscious, so long as the boss isn’t doing any cleaves (which they tend not to during things like ultimates—Aerial Blast, Hellfire, Earthen Fury, etc.) there isn’t really much of an issue of the tank sliding in to stand under the bubble during the outgoing damage, and then returning to the front of the boss immediately afterwards. It’s all about knowing a boss’ mechanics and timings. The AST’s placement is also important as they need to be able to cover DPS as well, and if the bosses’ hitbox is relatively large, they can’t just stand in the middle to get everyone. Not to mention they cannot move during Collective without canceling it entirely.

    There’s also no reason for a tank to move out of a healing bubble after a healer has already placed it. The amount of times I drop Asylum, Sacred Soil, or Earthly Star directly on the tank and they run out of it is astoundingly annoying.
    I also have the same issues during content with ranged DPS being off in Narnia, not getting AOE heals, and then complaining when they have low health or die. Want heals? Move in.

    Some of that may be about the disconnect between those abilities and the entire rest of the game. We're trained from very low levels to never stand in glowing ground circles. Then 50 levels later the game says, "no, just kidding, you're supposed to stand in these." If there's a ton of stuff happening and all of a sudden a ground AoE pops up, the gut reaction is "oh crap." You and I and most of the people dedicated enough to be posting here would instantly know Earthly Star for what it was, but a random tank in the middle of a pull? Maybe not.

    (Cover has the same issue. You have to be near the tank for it to work, but people constantly run away from it because all our training says not to stand that close to the tank.)

    Only thing I think you have an argument for with the prior conditioning reasoning is Earthly Star. Asylum, Sacred Soil, and Collective Unconscious are not ground AOEs but domes, and there are no mechanics in this game where a damage dome appears over you (though that would be cool). They also have visible effects (regen ticks that appear via flying text or a buff for damage mitigation that appears on your hotbar), where as Earthly does not.

    Many times, when I see a tank running out of my healy bubbles or Earthly, I tell them to please stay in them because they heal. The response? “Ok.” *proceeds to run out of it next time as well* /shrug

    See above. Earthly may be a ground AOE, but Asylum, Sacred Soil, and Collective Unconscious are not.

    Sadly, HoN doesn’t teach this, as healing bubbles (or even damage AOEs like Shadow Flare) aren’t a thing at the levels where HoN is relevant.
