No Level 50 BLM class quest

I have started the Heavensward content and am currently level 54 but I haven't gotten any level 50+ class quests for blm such as the Ley Lines spell. I am about 6 or 7 quests past the Leviathan msq line. Am I missing something?

You aren't at Heavensward content yet. If you are just past Levi you are at patch 2.3 and that means you have to finish that and two more ARR patches before you unlock Heavensward - ARR ends with 2.55.

If you don't want to look at that list cause of spoilers: Once you enter the 4th City you are at Heavensward content.

IIRC, you don't 'start' Heavensward until you get the quest where your character is able to enter Ishgard, thus all the HW Job quests are unavailable until you reach that point. Leviathan arc is still part of the ARR questline (came with Patch 2.2), so you still got a way to go.

Ahhh, thanks for the info folks. Guess I will keep truckin' through then. After Ultima storyline, everything kind of turned into a mess to me questline wise since so many things opened up at once.

Yeah, this is fairly common. Completing one dungeon/quest opened up 2 years worth of content almost all at once(a few of them you need to complete other things first but most are open right from the start). A dozen dungeons, 2 raid lines(normal and alliance), half a dozen major sidequest series. But the story itself doesnt get a fast forward button - all 5 patches of story need to be cleared to move forward. A similar thing happens at the end of HW when you finish the fight in The Singularity Reactor and all the optional patch stuff becomes open, and again at the end of SB after the fight in The Royal Menagerie. Of course, theres no rush to get to endgame - itll be there whether you reach it in a week a month or a year. So try to enjoy the journey.

why not? .. the hardest class to master in savage / extreme / ultimate raids.., and the hardest class to get in such Party Finders

(not only is there a caster suplus out there, and many parties only want one caster, ..atleast on the EU servers there are too many casters atm..., but also Blm do not buff the dps of other classes, something that everyone wants, upto the point, people make the "meta" an excuse for not taking a Blm in the comp)

playing the class with the highest personal* dps has its costs ...
(* other classes have more dps, it you take their partie buffs into account)

but Blm is very satisfying, when finally learning a fight and nuking the enemies..

Pssst. Savage/extreme/ultimate raids are not the only thing that exist in this game. Players can have no interest in that content and still enjoy playing.

raids are not the only content, but they define the class so much, that half the class threads are directly or indirectly about them..

ergo half the content / reason to play FFXIV, is for raiding... (and a lot still farm those ponies, birds and doggies in extreme trials..., Blm is not alwsys easy in those either)
