i'm already at +99 arms and armour within a day or two, i can get one now if i wanted, and thats just by farming 21 to 30 and not going beyond 30 due to there fixed party only rule.

i think the pricing is ok for what it is, getting to +100 dosnt seem that difficult. (at least for HoH, PotD on the other hand,...)

I don't think its that they cost too much, but there are unintended consequences from it.

    1. The +10/10 is actually convenient, but the flip side is that it makes it more monotonous since you no longer need to grind lower floors to power it up. You get to 40/40 or something, then just spam 21-30 nonstop, turning it in every 2 runs or so.
    2. You simply cannot turn it in if you want to do challenge floors. So again, you have to spam one floor.
    3. The amount of aetherpool i get varies from 5/5 to 10/10 a set of floors, meaning 10-20 runs to get one weapon. This is a lot more constant I think, and adds to monotony.

I mean, the cost is high but ok, but the other things make it a lot more of a grind than it should be.

I regularly challenge the higher floors, and every time I do, I turn in 20/20 for two grips. and, again, every time I do, I get to 99/99 before it's important.

Likewise, in my first 100 floor clear, I started with below 70. Better yet, our healer in the second clear didn't reach 90/90+ until the higher floors. You absolutely don't need 99/99 to start a full clear run.

    PF disagrees with you /s

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

PF people asks no double classes even in places the LB fill speed is irrelevant. A full run can start from 79/79 with no worries. But you know, pugs are pugs and you see asked 99/99 because the party leader can.

When POTD first came out 30/30 was the max and you had to pay that for a single weapon at 235 ilvl, when floors 51+ came out they raised the cap to 99/99 and you needed to pay an additional 60/60 to upgrade it to 255. So overall we’re paying 100/100 at the onset for a weapon that’s on par ilvl wise with the current EX primal. So unless they plan on letting us augment these the current cost is only slightly higher than the previous and you don’t have to completely burn your aetherpool levels in order to get it due to the grips. Personally the only issue I have with them is that it’s a 365 weapon released so late into the patch cycle, most people would have the EX primal weapon or an upgraded tome weapon assuming they don’t raid and have diamond.

If you can wait a few weeks they'll allow you to trade in Rabanastre and Lighthouse tokens for the upgrade item for your Mendacity weapon.

    OR

Eureka MIGHT grant you a 370 weapon... key word "MIGHT". Don't hold your breath though, stopping at 355 was a pretty huge letdown.

Kinna was 90/90, Empyrean is 100/100, that's just a +10 increase. The way grips work you can keep your aetherpool around 50/50 and keep spending every time you exceed it to reduce the chance of getting nothing from silver chests. You can get a full weapon in 1-2 days.

If you manage your aether pool it's not too bad, if you got a static for climb to 100 x 5 you can pretty much get almost all weps if you trade in every 20 for handles.
