    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    The issue seems to be tied to the game not being the focus of the PC (Alt-tabbing, not being fullscreen, etc.). Does this same error occur if you switch to windowed mode (not borderless)?

    Check the battery saving options and make sure that it is set to favor high performance so it will not switch to your integrated graphics card. Additionally, go into the Nvidia Control Panel and find Final Fantasy XIV. Make sure the GPU is set to the GTX 970M (not auto, if this is an option).

    Have you attempted to revert your graphics card drivers since the update?
