Please fix huge lag spikes in there. My whole party was lagging very bad to where game would just freeze up on us for 10 seconds then find out your dead after it ends. That's not fair to ones trying to reach floor 100. Please look in to it.

Happened again today at same boss on floor 50. Get huge lag spike right before boss floor then random disconnect at the boss. I'm on a pc with direct wired with no router also have nothing running other than normal window programs with firewalls turned and have it where lets game run thru them. Spikes is only happening right before a boss fight namely the floor 50 manticore boss. Happened today at around 8:30 pm pst. just before end of floor 49. Had no lag at all thru rest of the floors and boss fights but only happening right before floor 50 boss.

It happens in the afternoon-evening EST time, the lag spikes make doing anything beyond fetch quests VERY frustrating.
Hello hynaku, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums
The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on Internet Explorer. Other times it occurs when an application that is running in the background is causing interference, such as Anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, etc.
Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.
Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
[SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
Please RESTART your PC now.
Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
▼TCP
54992 through 54994,
55006 through 55007,
55021 through 55040
Hope to be of assistance.
My groups have also been experiencing these lag spikes.
I'm on PC with a wired connection...the only other software running is WTFast and Razer Synapse for my keyboard and mouse, and I run the game on an SSD. Last week was fine and one of my groups completed 3 successful floor 100 runs. This week...not so much.
We had one incident on the upper floors last night where the tank was just one shotted by a minor trash mob that we'd dealt with before...no record of what happened in the battle log. The mob was killed by the dps, the tank was res'd and we moved on.
On the next floor we encountered a Chimera, which was dealt with by a silence from the tank and then one from the bard for the next "Voice of" cast, we killed it and moved on.
The next chimera pull was the same, but when the tank silenced the Voice of the Ram (we saw it go off), the mob's cast bar suddenly jumped to end of cast, we were all dead, and the duty failed message flashed on the 80 floorset (I believe it was #86)
There have been other incidents I've seen with other player groups where the healer saw the other 3 players suddenly jump ahead, and one time the bard was frozen in place while running before the aoe animation even hit, and unable to avoid yet another chimera's Voice of the Ram.
In another run, I also saw the healer move completely out of an aoe, which killed her.
These spikes are happening quite frequently, I had no trouble at all with this stuff on opening week. We had quite a few successful 100 runs in our FC. I'm sorry to say that this week has been pretty awful, and not totally due to rng.
Hello Faelily.
Have you had a chance to try some of the troubleshooting listed above? Did it have any impact on the issue you are describing?

Hi,
I don't use internet explorer, and the incident in question (the wipe on the 80's floorset) affected all four party members at once.
Hello Faelily, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums
Even though you are not playing on internet explorer we still suggest following the troubleshooting we provide. Please try all troubleshooting steps and keep us informed on if they help with the Lag.
Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV! Hope to see you online. Hope to be of assistance
